Poll: What to do with our bigs
Just curious what everyone thinks we should do about the glut we seem to have in the front court.

Re: Poll: What to do with our bigs
Depends on what we can get, of course.
I'd probably lean towards trading Pekovic, especially if we're signing Darko. It sounds like we're almost forced to keep Jefferson, unless we want to make an awful deal.

OJ Mayo is one of the best defenders in the league, hes a two way player and hes a great passer and playmaker.

No reason to make any panic moves. If we can't get good value for Al or Love, keep them. Pekovic, on the other hand, has always been redundant with Al and hasn't played any games for this franchise. I think we can move him first.

I still think a Love for Randolph trade makes LOTS of sense for us.

We should trade Pekovic first off, and try to trade one of Love/Al. We need a wing that can create his own shot.

Re: Poll: What to do with our bigs
HAd to vote for the last option to start the season. Yes, huge logjam, but if we aren't gettign fair value I don't want to just give away a guy. We can do that later if we have to. Let them have a chance improve their value (looking at Jefferson here) before we move one.
Now if we can get decent value for Jefferson (doesn't have to be full value), then ok. Otherwise, wait until it is worthwhile to trade. Don't trade just to make a trade or get rid of someone.
Jefferson is probably first to go in the FO's mind. Pekovic could be second as rights don't hit a teams cap space and has value. Love would be third. Then again, if Darko doesn't come back, we don't have as bad a logjam, just alot of redundancy in players and there inability to get off the floor.

Dallas, Denver and Orlando have all made offers for Big Al. Detroit is interested but has no assets. I'm hearing that a trade will be done in July unless Pekovic doesn't join the team next year then things may change.

That's a depressing thought. None of those teams have any players I would want.

Make sure we have all 5 on board for now, then take it in stride come July ... things will open up for us.

At this point I’m really hoping the relationship damage has not been done and Kahn alters his strategy a bit and sticks with Al. Denver, Dallas, or Orlando? Goodness, I can’t imagine any realistic trade with those teams I’d be happy with.
Keep Al! Teach him to pass out of the blow block and he’d be a fantastic asset in the triangle in the Shaq/Gasol role. Even if you’re convinced he’s not a piece in the Rubio-led future, at least let him get healthy and start putting up consistent 20-10s before trading him for some random expiring contract.

Trade Al & Pek. Neither fit the current plan for our offense. If we could trade him to the Bucks for John Salmons & Carlos Delfino we would have a few more G/F combo's. Maybe trade Pek to Blazers for Rudy?? We could still pick up a back up PF in FA. Channing Frye comes to mind... This would lengthen our front court. Or bring back Craig Smith to back up Love?
We have to do the impossible, but it is possible.

*sigh* If they are going to trade Al I wish they would just get it over with so I can stop having the thought looming in the back of my mind. I highly doubt we will come out on top in any Al trade right now. Just put me out of my misery if you are going to dump him for a bag of chips.
When luck shuts the door skill comes in through the window.

Hell no to Denver, I'd hate to see him crush us on an already 50+ win team with a legit #1 option that has no assets to get him anyway. Dallas has Rowdy Roddy Piper, though that's probably their only interesting piece, and Orlando? Bleh
Wonder how Al feels about all this.

Watch it be Orlando based around something like Al Jefferson and Ramon Sessions for Vince Carter..... BLAH!

Re: Poll: What to do with our bigs
Pekovic fits. He is incredible smart and would be a very good player if he was not with Love and Al.
We need to move one of Al or Pek. It is all about value for me, so see what you can get. I personally like Al more then an expiring. We need to add an athlete to the frontcourt, give K Love a chance to start, and add a wing that can create.
This will be a fun couple months.

Re: Poll: What to do with our bigs
I agree we need an athletic big with some length, I just don't think Pek is that guy. I think someone like Favors or even Randolph if he put one weight would fit with Darko and Love. I'm sad we didn't end up with Favors.
