What if someone told you 4 weeks ago that the Wolves were trading Al and 2 2nd round picks for Beasley and 2 1st round picks?
Not sure it is a completely fair conversation (especially in hindsight)...but it is worth considering in the grand scheme of re-building the T-Wolves...

I think I would do that.
You are forgetting the Cap space in the overall picture.

I still think Beasley has potential and 2 first round picks will really help rebuild.

Why not combine all his moves?
The Beasley trade isn't going to make ppl that dislike the Al trade more accepting of it.

This could be covered in other threads. In fact, it already has...why make a new one?

If these 1st round picks weren't coming from a team that the Wolves just basically ensured would be drafting in the 20-25 range and if they hadn't just basically re-assured that team would be in their way of moving up in the division long term on top of the Blazers and Thunder already being in their way long term.
In their own division now because of this trade only two teams aren't assured of being expected to win 50 games a year for the next 3-5 or more years. Before they made this trade it clearly looked like the Jazz were in real danger of losing Deron Williams in free agency in a couple years after they had perhaps gotten him thinking they placed more importance on being profitable then winning between selling Ronnie Brewer, letting Boozer and Korver go to the Bulls and likely letting Wesley Mathews go to the Blazers.
Now with a clear commitment made by trading for Jefferson its far less likely Deron Williams walks in my opinion, especially since I personally believe that with a great PG and Sloan's system that Jefferson will prove to be an upgrade over Boozer at both ends of the floor.
I personally believe that Jefferson will be able to play with both Okur and Millsap because of AK47. I personally don't see the Wolves having an edge at any position vs either the Jazz, Blazers or Thunder going forward.
To make this trade was dumb enough to begin with, to make it in the division is one of the worst moves in recent memory.

Jefferson's game will kill Utah's system. He's NOT pick and roll big, and he won't stretch the floor. That pick might be better than we think.

Just because you ripped someone else off doesn't mean you should feel good about someone else ripping you off.

Beasley is overrated like fruit. I would never make a deal like this.
The team as a whole is a problem. I don't see how Al was the one that didn't fit in.
Khans repeating our own mistakes.
