Suddenly, the player deemed too flawed in most major areas to survive in the NBA is in contract discussions with three teams, according to league sources. The Los Angeles Lakers are believed to be one, with an Eastern Conference team the other.

YES! My dream of buying a non-personalized Laker jersey with my name just might happen!

Re: Lakers in contract discussion with Jeremy Lin
dude looks like an asian version of nash/rondo. plenty of handles, plenty of veteran directional changes to keep defenders off-balanced. there are a lot of kobe moves in his arsenal, including excellent body control in the air, defender splitting, great triple threat. however, whether he could translate his game into moves over larger, 7 ft NBA bodies isn't clear.
still, his game is really really polished. you can tell hes hardworking in order to get his skills to such a level. just depends whether with his athleticism, he can keep up with NBA players. we already know he
can keep up with the college game and with D-leaguers in summer league.
the triangle could always use more skillful players, if only for depth

Re: Lakers in contract discussion with Jeremy Lin
Oh man, I would love to see Lin in a Lakers uni. I first heard about him last year, and in college, not only was he winning against Ivy League teams (big whoop), he did surprisingly well against Boston College and George Washington, leading Harvard to wins, and dropped 30 on UConn.
What I love about Lin:
1) Decent sized guard (not a little squirt running around like Yuta Tabuse).
2) Pass-first mentality
3) Attacks the rim (dude looks to dunk)
4) Doesn't have blinders on when he drives
5) pretty fierce competitor (look at how he was attacking Wall. I don't think he's intimidated at all)
6) Plays scrappy defense. (despite him being an Asian guy, opponents aren't looking at him like easy prey to attack and look good in summer league)
What I don't like about Lin:
1) His shot. It just doesn't look smooth. But it's serviceable, and i'm sure he's going to work on it like mad.
If the Lakers picked up Lin, it would surprise the heck out of me, but DAMN, that would be awesome. Super unlikely, in my opinion (it sounds like we're picking SBrown back up, and our next need is a backup big, not another guard...), but it would be awesome.

Re: Lakers in contract discussion with Jeremy Lin
oh yeah, Yue. I remember rooting for him in garbage time, only to see him play like crap in garbage time. What a waste of a spot.
I don't think Lin is anything like Yue.
I just read more stuff in ESPN and the Dallas board. Looks like other people are starting to like him too.
C'mon, Lin! LA! It's full of Tiawanese people who'll go nuts for you! (I'm not Tiawanese, btw I just have lots of Tiawanese friends, and I KNOW they'll go nuts for him.)

Re: Lakers in contract discussion with Jeremy Lin
seen the first two mins of video, you got to give it up to him for making the game winning three point shot at the buzzer....dude is a competitor saw him yesterday vs wall and took it to him even got acouple of steels, one late which resulted into a flush. also shot and made a rainbow three over a highly contested defender when the game was still in the balance. im sure teams are going to look very hard at this kid and if hes lucky, i bet he makes it in the nba this year

she's cute. she also makes me feel like a really dirty old man. how old is she, 14?!
better keep her away from Lebron's dad.
