Kurt, Damp, Barron, and Amundson I would take. I question if Barron can contribute consistently. Damp is a fairy but he has nice height and atleast tries to protect the rim. Hopefully we get a big that doesnt float around the perimeter and can have some sort of impact on the defensive end.

Nice work/post. Not that impressive of a list but, Kurt Thomas, Shaq, and Barron would interest me. Kurt Thomas showed he still has something in the tank in our series, but his problem is that he will provide virtually zero scoring, but he plays very good defense and wouldn't be a bad option off the bench. Shaq provides the mentality that this team needs..he isn't afraid of anyone inside, and plays strong post D on the best big men in the game, but his offensive game has taken a huge hit, and his inability to make FTs can hurt you over the course of a game. Barron really interests me, but I am stunned by the lack of interest. 29 years old, and has improved a lot in each of his three NBA seasons, but only got limited time last year in just 7 games where he averaged 12/11. 7 footer, which we need, and looks like he could be a hidden gem or just a fluke. I wouldn't mind Dampier either, but I fear that we won't get the Dampier you saw last year since it was his contract year.

I would like some combination of Barron, Tolliver, Kwame, and Dampier, with the latter two getting one year contracts.

There is another thread on that. The TPE is only half his 1st season salary on the new contract so not enough for Brandon Bass. I'm also unsure whether Orlando would deal with us.

You forgot to mention JOSH BOONE, I think he is the best of the remaining FA at C. Still young, can rebound and block some shots, provides defense and can score in the post, it´s a no brainer, he is the best available and could be signed cheap. I would also go with Earl Barron, big body, can rebound and play defense and produces when given the opportunity.

More than $7,262,902 is still possible because a 34M/5yrs descending contract can start at $8,607,595

Now, it seems his contract his 6.66% ascending, starting at 6M.
It means we should get a TPE of $3,631,451

He played in summer league after playing in China last year. Given his checkered past I don't think the Hawks would take a chance on him.

For me Boone is the best big available also but I would go with another C instead of Craig Smith, we already have enough PF, let´s sign another big body to stop Dwight with some fouls, Earl Barron could fit nicely.
