What would you give up for him? Beasley? Love? Flynn? Beasley & Flynn?

I'm not too high on him actually. Seems like he's purely a jump shooter without offering much else and we have enough of those guys already. That said, I'd give up Flynn for him in heart beat. I'd like to see what we have in Beasley first, and obviously with his value so low, he's not going to nab Mayo, as overrated as he is. I think Beasley very well could be a better fit in our offense than Mayo because Beasley can score anywhere on the court and Mayo seemingly only on the perimeter. Not trading Love for him.

He hasn't wowed me. That's how I look at it. When he was drafted, a lot of people had the idea that he was going to be a perennial all-star, but I just haven't seen it. He can't be that good if the Grizzlies are talkin' about trading him.

Looking back at that trade, I feel like we got the better end of it. We got Love, who has been a very good player and we were also able to take Mike Miller and make a deal for Ricky Rubio. We also got rid of some very bad contracts, so it was a slam-dunk for us, IMO.

On a scale from like to like-like him?

I would trade Flynn/Ellington/Koufos for Mayo/Henry.

I'm sure you would. But I don't even think that Memphis would accept such a terrible deal.

OJ Mayo is one of the best defenders in the league, hes a two way player and hes a great passer and playmaker.

Well YEAH. Problem is, you'd have to convince Chris Wallace he was in a bizarro universe to get him to sign off on a deal like that. Not sure Kahn has the ability to bend minds like that. Slip him some LSD, maybe we could get that deal done.

I'd trade Love for Mayo + a lottery protected 1st. I don't like him more than Love at all, nor do I think the Grizz would bite on that, but I think he'd be an exceptional fit here and it would give us a more definitive starting lineup of:

Flynn
Mayo
Johnson
Beasley
Darko

With a fairly solid bench including Sessions/Ridnour, Pekovic, Brewer and Webster.

I'd move Love in a similar deal if it meant getting Harden, alternatively.

I like him, but not a whole lot. He's too small for the sg spot, and he's a terrible defender. Every time I see him play he comes across as a ballhog as well. I think I've had enough of the too small for 2 guard, too slow for the pg players.

With Foye on board, maybe Kahn could get Eric Gordon for a fair price lol. Wealey for Eric?

Because of Mayo's physical limitations, as a SG, his ceiling can't be much better than a Ben Gordon, Steve Franchise, or Hershey Hawkins type player. I actually think all of the players mentioned -- Love, Flynn, and Beasley have more upside.

I actually think Mayo is kind of being sold a little short here. He was actually one of my personal targets in an Al trade. I think he could be of value to us. With that said, I actually am starting to like some of the pieces we currently have and the only ones I'd be willing to trade would probably result in us fleecing the Grizzlies, which really can't/shouldn't be expected. If they'd bite on some combination of Sessions, Brewer, Koufos, and some of these protected 1sts we've got then I'd mos certainly be interested.

I've never been a big fan of his. I grew up an hour away from where Mayo played in high school his senior year and kept hearing about how he's some combo guard with PG skills. Thats not true. He may be able to create some shots for other people but not anywhere near enough to consider that a valuable skill from him. He's a 20ppg player and not much else.

That's about where I'm at. I think he'd be a good fit, but I'm not nearly as enamored with him as I am Henry. Who I would love for us to get.

He is kinda short for a sg. that's my only concern with him, he's a fine player.

Complete tangent here, but if we got Mayo for Love (as an example), our starting lineup would consist of some damn high lottery picks:

Flynn (6)
Mayo (3)
Johnson (4)
Beasley (2)
Darko (2)

That has to be the lowest total in the league. Heck, even if we didn't get Mayo, if Webster or Brewer started at SG it's still only 6 or 7 respectively.

I'd give them Sessions and Brewer or Webster for him, maybe give them back their first round pick.
He is a little small and has defensive issues... I wouldn't offer them Love or Beasley, Love is a more useful player and Beasley has way more upside. I don't think Mayo is going to get much better, his numbers didn't change at all his second year.

The Henry situation just looks so odd. Is there a recent precedent where a team did the same thing to a player?

God no.

Everything we've done this offseason was with the goal of becoming bigger and more athletic. Flynn and Gordon would never work. And Rubio/Gordon neither because both of those guys are not able to guard the upper tier SG's.

^^^ Gordon is actually a good defender, he has some long arms and strong body to boot despite being undersized. Offensively he has total package: good shooter, good slasher, can create his shot and pass the ball while being a good dribbler of the ball. I would give up Johnson for him. We have Webster and Beas aslo can play SF. Rubio plays well next to Navarro, Gordon is similar to Navarro in skillset.
