Very interesting offensive statistics

I got this off of Henry Abbotts Monday Bullets.

There is too much to copy and paste, and I'm not sure the tables would stay readable.

Anyway, it shows that DWill plays far better against better competition than against weaker. I wonder why this is the case. It would certainly help our winning percentage against lesser teams if he could be more consistent. He seems to get amped up for the bigger games. Anyway, he is pretty damn dominant against good competition, which is very cool.

His lower statistics are probably more of reflection that he plays fewer minutes against those teams because the games are in hand and the bench is playing more.

No, I think that he does play down to his opponent's level at times.

Interesting read.

How about this article.

The Value of an NBA Draft Pick: Part III

Based on our career expected values, here are the players since the merger who exceeded their expectation by the most Win Shares (active players excluded):

1. Karl Malone
2. John Stockton
3. Michael Jordan
....
7. Jeff Hornacek

The Jazz made the two best value picks and traded for the 7th.

And this reference made me laugh..

The Value of an NBA Draft Pick: Part II

Speaking of Milicic, looking back at the top five selections in the 2003 NBA Draft reminds me of the Sesame Street song "One of These Things (Is Not Like The Others)":

1 LeBron James
2 Darko Milicic
3 Carmelo Anthony
4 Chris Bosh
5 Dwyane Wade
