Tim Duncan my keeper?

Post#1 » by Faithleader » Tue Jul 27, 2010 12:07 am

Here is my top 5 keeper (not in order btw):
Russel Westbrook
Tim Duncan
Deron Williams
Andrea Bargnani (yea yea....first option in the raptors)
Al Horford

---------------
Out of my list who aren't so called "useless" player.....

Vince carter
LaMarcus Aldridge

I am thinking... trade Tim Duncan + my 10th pick for 6th and 7th pick and move LaMarcus Aldridge in the top 5 keeper b/c i want my team to be younger.

Is this trade fair or not? is it a loopside trade for the team i am trading to? If so, what should i do to trade Tim duncan?

or the other question is.....If i keep Duncan .... what happens to LaMarcus.... he still have value...

like it. Duncan might still produce next season, but the end is coming for the BIg Fundamental

I'd insist on 6th and 7th. After all, he was 21st ranked player last year on a per game basis (16th on cumulative) and played in 78 games. Despite his age, he is still producing and IMO Duncan+10 th for 6th+7th should be the floor for the type of trade you'd do.

Here is my option:
1) Tim Duncan + my 13 pick = for 6th and 7th pick (which makes my Aldridge my top 5 keeper)
2) Stephen Jackson = Tim Duncan
3) Tim duncan + my 10th pick = 8pick + 9th pick

and its a 12 teams league

Well I like the first one the best. The 3rd one should be thrown out of the window in any case since it is clearly an inferior offer compared to the first one.

Because Duncan >>> Jackson (63rd per game rank) right now.

And Jackson isnt exactly a spring chicken either. He is only 2 years younger than Duncan.

If you are already tanking turnovers and you aren't tanking free throws, then Jackson could be a better player this season for someone trying to win now. With no sure thing at PG, Jackson could see increased duties with the ball, which will serve to exaggerate his stats.

But if you think the 6th pick is enough to land Cousins in your league, definitely go with that trade.

what are the good 6-9 pick players in a 12 teams league look like?

Do I draft a high level rookie like Wall and Cousins and Second year players like DeRozen and Hickson? or veteran like Marion, Redd and etc

Your option 3 is just stupid compared to your option 1??
You give up your 13th pick compared to your 10th? and you get your 6 and 7 picks instead of 8 and 9?
Also TD is a lot better than Jackson in terms of production, so take the first one for sure.
