McLouth to Minors, Clevlen Activated

Post#1 » by bstrassburg » Tue Jul 27, 2010 8:37 pm

Nate McLouth has been sent down to Gwinette to make room to activate Brent Clevlen off the DL. There are some rumblings that Clevelen will be sent down in 4 days after Gregor Blanco serves his 10 days in the minors. Although, may not be true, according to DOB: "Wren just said they've made no decision about whether they'd bring Blanco back soon. Clevlen plays CF. Heyward is a possibility for CF too."

Interesting that they mention Heyward as a possibility to CF. Could make trading for a corner OF more realistic. Also, not bringing back Blanco kind of sounds like there could be a trade in the works. At least Wren seems to have realized that McLouth isn't the answer.

On that note, I might not mind seeing the Braves try an OF of Hinske/Diaz, Heyward, Infante once and see where that gets us. It wouldn't be the best defensive OF by any stretch but could offer good offensive production.

Keep Heyward in RF, go with Hinske/Diaz platoon in LF, trade for Marlon Byrd to play CF.

Melky, Marek, M Dunn for Byrd

Return to Atlanta Braves
