What do you think about Patrick O'Bryant

Post#1 » by mjvile » Fri Jul 30, 2010 8:52 am

I know this would be a long shot but I think this would help with are need at center. I know that he is a litlle think but I think this would give us someone different to throw at Pau Gasol and Lamar Odem. He would be quick enoupg to stay infront of the quicker centers in the league. It would also give Feseko to have to compete with for the minutes. Let me know what the pros and cons with this addition. He is a unrestricted free agent and think we could pick him for cheap.

Williams/price/gains
Bell/Miles/Jeffers
Milsap/Kirilinko/Hayward
Jefferson/Milsap/Okur
Okur/Jefferson/O'Bryant

He's the worst player in recent NBA history.

In a world where young 7-footers are worth their weight in gold, this guy gets passed around like a social disease. That tells me all I need to know about him.

couldn't be worse than Koufos.
"Thibs called back and wanted more picks," said Jorge Sedano. "And Pat Riley, literally, I was told, called him a mother-bleeper and hung up the phone."

I prefer Fess but wouldnt mind if signed both of them and tried to develop them both but only if real cheap price.

This is the other issue. When Okur comes back, we'll have him, Big Al, and (presumably) Fes taking minutes at C. O'Bryant would get no time at all to develop...if we're going to add a depth C it should be a guy who can contribute now. POB doesn't fit that bill.

Patrick O'Bryant is finished. He is not an NBA player. He can not be developed. He is Hoffa. He should take his 7 feet to China where that's all it takes to earn 40k a year.

I kinda miss Hoffa personally. He was as clumsy as Fesenko, but meaner and more serious at least.

What options are left in center without paying double for the contract cause of the LT? Shaq? With Okur coming back from a TORN acillies and Big Al having such a serious surgey 2 seasons ago we could have to just depend on Fesenko and I dont trust that what so ever. We need another big man not another backup point gaurd. We need an improvment at BPG. We need someone that is dirt cheap!

OK, so if we need all those things why are you asking about Patrick O'Bryant?

I know he wouldnt be the dream canidate that we all would want but look at his numbers he has some potental. He has spent most of his time in the D-legue but as few minutes and games he has played he would be a good 3rd string center to have in the d-legue just like Kufous was and if worst came to worst we have two 7 footers to throw in the lane.

I dont know if you remeber why we lost to the Lakers the last 3 years? It was cause we were to short and not quick enouph to guard the Pau, Odem and Bynum. So unless we get some different options to throw at them we will be ending the season the same way as the last 3 years. Al is a great pick up but he is not the cure for our problems for the last 3 years.

Well... I really can't imagine POB screaming "Boom Bitches" at Carmelo's gang... and you know that was Kosta's best contribution to the Jazz (aside from being the trade bait to get Big Al )
