Any possibility we can bring Joey V home?

Post#1 » by Leolovinliberal » Fri Jul 30, 2010 6:12 pm

Apparently AA is on record as saying he has to have All Star caliber players at most positions to compete in AL East; well there's a T.O kid that just made the All Star team and I wonder if AA wowed the Reds could we get him? Here's what I'm thinking: Marcum, Litch, Overpaid, Cooper and Buck for Joey V. yeah, it's a lot, but the Reds are in a win now move and obviously we're not and none of those players with the possible exception of SM figures prominently in the future. Possible lineup for next season could look as such:

1b: Joey Votto
2nd: Hill
SS: Escobar
3rd: Bautista
C: Aaron Cibia
DH: Lind
LF: Fred
CF: Vernon
RF: Snider

SP: Romero, Cecil, Morrow, RZep, Mills

Just throwing it out there.

You'd probably have an easier time trading for Albert Pujols than Joey Votto, there's no package that we could possibly put together that will atleast get the Reds to consider our offer. Joey is under the Reds control until 2013 and should be pretty damn cheap, he's as untouchable as it gets.

A lot? Actually, I don't think it's enough.

And lmao @ Aaron Cibia.
Good Lord, the little stoner's got a point.

damn, i didn't even read the trade idea that you posted, it is downright horrific. That's a video game trade where you can keep adding filler until the other team accepts, Cincy will probably block our number if Alex ever propsed a trade like that.

There is .0000000000001% chance he'd get traded. You'll see Alonso moved before Votto.

Teams don't trade young, MVP-calibre players for one good starting pitcher and a whole bunch of castoffs.
