Division winners and Wild Card predictions
Predictions for the 2010-11 NFL season. Lets assume Favre IS playing...

Re: Division winners and Wild Card predictions
AFC East
1. Dolphins
2. Jets
3. Pats
4. Bills
This will be the closest division in football, but I only see one team making the playoffs. I really like what the Dolphins are showing and I'm not entirely sure I'd take Sanchez over Henne. The Bills will probably contend for the #1 pick this season.
AFC North
1. Bengals
2. Ravens*
3. Steelers
4. Browns
The Bengals and Ravens will probably trade the division lead all season long until the last couple weeks, but I think the Bengals defense is a little better since the Ravens' secondary is filled with question marks. The Steelers will definitely suffer for 4-6 weeks without Ben and the Browns might be closer to 3rd than the basement this season.
AFC South
1. Colts
2. Texans*
3. Titans
4. Jaguars
I'm a firm believer that the Colts won't go away until their quarterback does and nothing will change this year barring MAJOR injury. The Texans may get over the hump this season and challenge for the final Wild Card spot. I don't think the Titans are very good and Chris Johnson can't carry the whole team on his shoulders. The Jags really don't have much to work with this season and being as I go to school in Jacksonville, I don't have a whole lot to look forward to this fall/winter.
AFC West
1. Chargers
2. Broncos
3. Chiefs
4. Raiders
I'll put good money on the Chargers going undefeated in the division this season. I can honestly say I don't see the Broncos coming all that close to the division championship, but they'll still win 10 games this year and challenge for the last Wild Card spot. KC and Oakland are waaaaay off, but the Raiders may finally get out of that basement and scratch up 5 or 6 wins this year... as will KC.
1. Chargers 13-3
2. Colts 12-4
3. Bengals 11-5
4. Dolphins 10-6
5. Ravens 11-5
6. Texans... finally 10-6
NFC East
1. Cowboys
2. Giants*
3. Iggles
4. Racial Slurs
I hate the Cowgirls with a passion, but they're better on paper than every other team in the division by enough. I think the Giants are a mystery, but they're good enough to be a WC team again. I'm hoping and prayin that Eli can finally turn that corner and become the best QB in the division, hands down. Donovan leaving town won't do much for Washington and definitely won't help the Iggles at all, but I still think the Iggles are the better team.
NFC North
1. Packers
2. Vikings
3. Bears
4. Lions
Regardless of Father Time hanging them up, I'll take the Pack in the North. Rodgers can solidify himself in the upper echelon of QBs in the league with another good season and the D up there can hold its own. The Vikings have the ability to win 10-12 games with Favre out there and only 7-9 without him. The Bears are probably the most unpredictable team for me this year (besides New England) and could surprise a lot of people if that offense even rivals the D's ability. The Lions will improve exponentially this year because of what I think was the best draft of the league, chalk them up for 5-6 wins this year.
NFC South
1. Saints
2. Panthers*
3. Falcons
4. Bucs
I read Icness' preview, and I have to agree that this is probably the deepest division in the league. That whole trend of the 'Worst to First' in the South won't continue this season and the Saints should defend their division title. I've liked Matt Moore since the first time I saw him and I think he can become that next big name in the league. I'm not entirely sold on the Falcons yet, as I still can't get behind Matt Ryan, but they should challenge for the last WC spot with NYG, Carolina, Minny and maybe Chicago. I like Josh Freeman, too, but losing Antonio Bryant as a main target won't help his development at all.
NFC West
1. Niners
2. Cards
3. Seahawks
4. Rams
By far the weakest division in football, but I think this is San Fran's year. They have an offense that I think can score points and a D that could hold up. As much as I want Matt Leinart to succeed, since I thought he would transition well into the NFL as a rookie, I don't think he'll have too much success this year. Seattle could be up or down this year, so I'll just stick them in the middle for Pete Carroll's second journey to the pros. As for the Rams, well...
1. Packers 13-3
2. Cowboys 12-4
3. Saints 12-4
4. Niners 10-6
5. Panthers 11-5
6. Giants 10-6

^^^ agree with mostly everything except I think the second place spot in the AFC East will have a good shot at the wild card run
Also don't feel packers have what it takes to take saints or cowboys this year, AFC takes the superbowl

Re: Division winners and Wild Card predictions
Good rundown Shwab but i think there's a 0% chance the Jets miss the playoffs.
AFC East:
1. Jets
2. Pats
3. Fins
4. Bills
-NY has ridicolous hype but i think it's legit. They went to the AFC Champ game last season and improved their roster on both sides of the ball. Sanchez isn't great but he'll improve imo. Brady comes back strong after a full summer on resting that knee. Brandon Marshall is sick but i'm not sold on Henne, yet. Best divison in football - I can see MIA going 10-6 and left out.
AFC North:
1. Ravens
2. Bengals
3. Steelers
4. Browns
- Joe Flacco is a stud and Ray Rice could win OPOY. Boldin gives them a true weapon for Joe. Cincy now has starpower but i don't think Benson has another season like last year and i'm not buying TO/Ocho.
AFC South:
1. Colts
2. Texans
3. Titans
4. Jags
- Put Peyton Manning indoors for 8 games a year and he wins 7 of them. Andre is a beast but i'm still not buying the Texans as contenders.
AFC West:
1. Chargers
2. Chiefs
3. Broncos
4. Raiders
- Bolts take it again based on talent. KC is my sleeper pick over Denver based on QB play and offensive playmakers. I also think their D will be terrific.
NFC East:
1. Cowboys
2. Redskins
3. Giants
4. Eagles
- Too much firepower in Dallas but i think the overall division struggles. Skins have a good year with McNabb but Giants/Eagles still have too many question marks.
NFC North:
1. Packers
2. Vikings
3. Bears
4. Lions
- GB has the best offense in the league and Aaron Rodgers is a top 5 QB. I don't see Favre playing as well as 09-10' but Adrian Peterson comes back strong after a down year. Don't trust Cutler to lead a team into the playoffs.
NFC South:
1. Saints
2. Falcons
3. Panthers
4. Bucs
- As long as Brees has time to throw nobody can stop their offense. Love Matt Ryan and Michael Turner but still concerned about them having no bigtime playmakers at WR. Rebuilding year for Cats/Bucs.
NFC West:
1. Cards
2. 49ers
3. Seahawks
4. Rams
- I think AZ wins this divison at 8-8 because they're now a running team. Beanie will have a breakout year with their improved O-line. Leinart is no Warner but they still have big weapons to spread the field. Love the Niners D but Alex Smith hasn't proven he can be a consistant QB in the league. Hawks are old and injury prone and STL is a joke. Worst division in pro sports.

The Dolphin's suck. I can't wait to see Henne flee like a scared hen whenever we blitz and Revis already locked down Marshall. The Dolphin's won't go anywhere this year. Your gonna drop 4 in the division maybe 5 if the Bills get inspired for a game. The way I see it is what did every team do with the Champs. And u guys played the worst against the Saints. U let Brees come back while the Jets D locked him down. If it wasn't for Sanchez we would've smoked them.

I agree with most of what's been said but I have a few issues:
-Without Harris and Peppers, the Panthers will be in the basement. 0-3 last season without Harris and 8-5 with him was the most important stat for that team last year. I'm putting them at 4-12. Schwab's 11-5 prediction looks more like how they would've finished last season if Harris hadn't been injured and they hadn't squandered that Bills game.
-Pittsburgh should be fine. I can see the Steelers having a bounceback year. The way that team's been managed, them not being in the playoffs has almost become unnatural.
-Cincy's big shot was last season and they blew it. They had to sweep the Ravens and the Steelers last season just to go 10-6, and I don't think they can repeat that. Splitting with both teams, which is highly optimistic, puts them at 8-8. They'll also have their toughest schedule since 1990 if record is any indicator.
-I think this is SF's first of many years. I thought it would come last year but I realized I was a season early. 10-6 49ers including at least five wins in the division, six if they can sweep Arizona again. Think of it this way - if the 49ers can win out in the NFC West, they only have to go 4-6 otherwise.
-I like the NFC North and I think everyone's predicted it well. I'll need to see how Cutler's protection is looking before I pass judgment though. If that team has decent O-line play, it should win 9-11 games. If it's like last season, adding Harris and Peppers doesn't help enough when Cutler's getting sacked five times a game.
-I think it's a Dolphins/Jets race in the AFC East and it'll be great to watch. I think the Patriots'll need to do a bit of regenerating.

Vikings will win the division again. Aaron Rodgers is a highly overrated QB, his stats look nice because he holds onto the ball for a long time waiting for the perfect throw. As a result of this he takes a LOT of sacks. Vikings won the division w/o Favre two years ago, and their offense is definitely BETTER than the Packers w/Favre. Top to bottom they are just a better football team than the Packers. I was surprised to see how many of you favored the Packers in the NFC North.

Rodgers overrated? Wow. He did hold the ball a lot in the beginning of last year, but that is better than throwing the ball into coverage (ideally he he would just throw it away). When the Packers actually got solid at the tackles, the Packers offense took off, 7-1 in the 2nd half of the season. "Definitely better" with Favre is a VERY DEBATABLE comment when comparing the offenses, especially since the odds of Favre having a better season than last year are slim to none (that was the best year of his career). Packers also have Finley (IMO, their hardest to guard player) in the fold from day 1, and last year he was coming in injured. My money is on the Packers averaging more PPG than the Vikings, with or without Favre. It should be relatively close though.
I'd say the Vikings definitely have the better D until proven otherwise, based primarily on their ability to get to the QB. As far as the teams overall, I'd say with a normal Favre year, they are a toss up with Favre, if the Vikings have anyone else it is the Packers division.

Just like revis locked ginn right?

Edit: I don't even have to mention Ricky and Ronnie lol, deadly combo
