Dejuan Blair status

Warriors fan here, I have been following Dejuan Blair's games and feel this guy is a BEAST for real.
Looking at the Spurs roster and I feel that Blair will play big minutes and could be starting.
How high are Spurs fan on Blair?

He averages 7.8 pts 6.4 reb in 18 mins (2.4 off. reb, 2nd in rookies behind Taj Gibson with 26 min)
Given min, he is a lock for double double, but put the stats away, he is an energy sparks from the bench, if any team can afford to let him come off bench, he will destroy the opposite defender.

At times I think he is too confident or to say he is not disciplined enough to follow what Greg wants him to do. He has no mercy on breaking people's arms...

I like Blair so much that I almost put him to my top 3 current players in my list. I just want to know the honest words from Spurs fans.

I like the kid. He has a good upside. On his rookie salary so for the price he's a steal.

I wouldn't give him too many mins as he is greatly oversized. I see him as a spark off the bench. i.e. Paul Milsap or Malik Rose. Not starting material.

For me, I'm expecting Blair to be our 2nd most productive big this season.

For Splitter, this will be his learning year. Learning the system, the NBA, the defensive rules, and his new environment.

For McDyess, probably will be saved for the playoffs, thus getting backup minutes to keep his legs fresh.

For Bonner, I wasn't expecting him to come back but for the money the Spurs are paying him, I doubt they sign him to let him rot in the bench. He's probably my best bet for opening night starter but won't average more 24 minutes a game.

Which means, I'm expecting Blair to be the guy who benefits the most from all of this. Last year was his learning season. This is the year he should be getting his minutes. Judging from what I saw last year, I definitely think he earned extended playing time.

Last year he averaged 7.8 pts 6.4 reb in 18 mins. Double that total and that's 15.6 points and 12.8 rebounds in 36 minutes.

My prediction, he gets 12 points and 10 boards in 33 minutes of playing time.

I love Blair, the dude is a monster. He's going to have a huge role on the team this year and I see him getting starter minutes, not sure whether he'll start but I think he'll be getting around 30 minutes a game. I love the way he plays the game and I see him averaging around 14 and 10 next year.

Generally from the folks saying is they all believe Blair can get starter min and get into the 2nd big in the team. I hope he can learn a few more years from Tim Duncan and become a true big because he is under-sized although he seem to have no problem with it.


I see this guy like a Dennis Rodman or Ron Artest type of player.
And the two were my flavorite players.
