Tailgate 2010

Post#1 » by RollingRock138 » Mon Aug 23, 2010 10:27 pm

So a few friends and I are thinking about driving to Green Bay on a sunday afternoon game day (don't have tickets) and tailgating then going to some local bars to watch the game. Are there any places you guys would recommend going? I'm not familiar with the area. I just want to soak up the atmosphere

Stadium View is a good place to watch the game. Or you can watch right in the Lambeau parking lot, they have the Tundra Tailgate Zone, it's pretty nice. It's enclosed so bad weather doesn't matter. Lots of TV's, food, bar, etc... and it's free to get in.

But anywhere around the stadium you want to watch the game you'll have to get a seat early, don't expect to show up 10 minutes before the game and find a seat in front of a TV.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Hit up Fuzzy's early before the game. He is awesome. And, you never know what other legends he might have there (I talked to Max McGee and Fuzzy (Fuzzy can't really communicate well) for awhile as I was downing a cold one a couple years ago).

Tom Dick and Harry's is a newer bar right by the practice field that is pretty cool. If I were you I'd just bring a grill and some beer and tailgate in one of the lots close by. That'd be a lot more fun than sitting in a bar. You can do that during the game.

If you don't want the hassle of bringing tailgate stuff and paying to park in a lot just get up there early, park for free on the street and hit one of the outdoor tailgate parties. There's one in Bart Starr Plaza, Stadium View has one, there's one outside Favre's steakhouse. I'm not sure the costs, I believe the one outside Favre's is $25 for unlimited food and drink (burgers, etc, beer, screwdrivers).
