I see absurd thread predicting playoffs and I'm like, "Are you crazy, besides Cleveland and Minnesota, we're terrible.....and that's fantastic." I'm so excited because despite the fact that we'll be a travesty of a shamockery of a team, we'll have exciting young players getting major minutes, (no thanks to The Collar, may I remind you the Matt Barnes and Diaw deals that fell through, thank God) and we'll have a very high draft pick in a very good draft. It's a win/win. Build through the draft like OKC. Ideally, I'd love to trade bargs at the deadline and get even more picks and a great young player with potential, i.e Deandre Jordan. I can't wait for the season to start, the Raps to suck and come next May we'll get our pg of the future who will be dishin' and driving and ooping to DD and Sonny and Easy E. Anyone else with me?

No. You do realize that we're gonna be awful/irrelevant for likely 2-3 years until we can compete again, and that's only if we draft well in the lottery.

There's a very small chance we get a player like Bosh again so soon through the draft and a really really small chance that we get a player like LeBron/Durant.

I want to see the reaction of this board once we go on a losing streak. Even though most of us are expecting the raptors to do bad this year, the stress levels will still be high. I will be looking forward to the first threads about blowing up the team, firing BC/Triano, ________ sucks.....ah man this will be a depressing year, once again.

I'm okay with it to a degree...I just don't want the losing to linger on for three or four years. I don't think anybody wants that really. We better get a top pick, and a return on that top pick in the form of a franchise-changing player. We don't want to have to keep waiting like we have been with Andrea Bargnani.

Im sorry but Barney >>> Deandre Jordan. As for getting getting a top 5 pick maybe the raps can trade for proven all star pg ala DWill with the pick, tpe, and expirings and maybe grab someone like Marc Gasol.

I'm actually pretty happy win or lose, I just want to know our team is going in the right direction. If DeMar shows signs of being a superstar I'll be more than ecstatic. Ecstatics not even the word, I'll cream my pants... I mean spill cream on my pants.

It never ceases to amaze me how people can be happy with a bad season. Do you people really think getting a "high draft pick" will make any difference whatsoever in the grand scheme of things?

If we do badly, the season will be boring. We'll get a 'high draft pick' who will make a marginal difference at best and we'll be just as boring the following season.

All this talk of 'rebuilding' is just BS. WINNING is the only way to go.

Awful with lots of room for improvement is better than the team that finished last season. We have a lot of young players with opportunities to do stuff--it even includes Bargnani as well. Hopefully Triano actually makes the most of it. If we're playing **** ball and the morale is low, I hope he's canned as soon as possible.

Hell no man I want win right now!! I'm tired of this franchise losing...who knows what will happen in the future...and I sorta felt like you in 2005 when I was cool with us losing 50+ games for a lotto pick...but look what happened 5 years later....were worse off smh.

I think this year will be much more exciting because we have a lot more young players taking a focal role on our team--and they want to prove their worth. We've seen how much work they put in this offseason, and now it looks like we'll be employing an uptempo style (with a lot more ball movement) that they will thrive under.

I really hope we don't see the lackadaisical effort (Hedo), poor defensive intensity (just about everyone), one dimensional offense (Bosh), and role players trying to do too much with the ball (Wright, Reggie, Belinelli). I suppose we could see some of the same problems this year ("proving your worth" could equate to chucking...I really hope that's not the case, and that everyone buys into the team concept).

I do like that some of our offseason acquisitions in Kleiza/Barbosa (and Bargs too) are the focal points on their respective national teams, and they've been assertive and performing well so far (again I'll be optimistic and hope that this will improve their confidence, rather than result in chucking).

We probably won't win as many games, but at least our outlook won't be quite as gloomy as it was this past season.

I'de rather come into the season knowing we're going to suck then thinking we might make some noise this year only to be dissapointed AGAIN.
