griffin number one option off the bat?

Post#1 » by Canomad » Mon Oct 11, 2010 5:21 am

i think this guy has stardom written all over him. when he was at OU i watched as many of his games as i could because he was just flat out dominate. i think he has potential to turn your franchise around, as i personally dont believe in the clippers curse. i actually want you guys to succeed and have a good year and keep making progress. my question is for you clips fans do you think he should be your number 1 option? IMO i think he can he was a very well rounded offensive game, the handles of a small forward and every tool he needs as a pf, also while just oozing with talent and potential. let me know what you think since you see more of him then i do. this year ill be keeping my eyes on you though cuz blake might be my favorite player ever coming out of college.

No chance he is a first option for the simple reason he doesn't have much of a jumpshot. Defence can just sag off and play the drive. He is better of is the pick and roll, cutting to the basket and hitting the offensive glass in my opinion. Atleast for this year.

I say give it time, he shouldn't be our number one option to start the season. I think he should prove himself as the season goes on. And like BoomFizzle said, maybe next season.

He's not going to be our #1 option with Kaman's low post and mid range scoring, Baron looking for his shot as well and EJ coming off that solid FIBA tournament.

Though, I doubt we'll have a clear cut #1 option as we're really balanced and able to get scoring from multiple(at least 4 guys) players.

He has some things to work on before we could look toward him being our 1st option. He'll get the majority of his points off of PnR's, alley-oops, putbacks, etc. Now when he can hit a decent jumper and convert at the foul line, it will be a completely different story.

yes. this guy is Karl Malone with hops. Amare with toughness. etc. He's a damn beast. Yeah he has flaws but who gives a damn? Ride him as the 1 option til the wheels fall off.

I think the focus will still lean more on Kaman at least at the start. Maybe by the midway point of the season or so blake will take over as the #1, but right at day one i don't see it.

Let's say option 1a, b, c,d

If Kaman has it going, he needs to see the ball- same could be said for Gordon, and Davis. I'm excited for this season!

Griffin has been our best and most consistent player in the preseason so far.
