Anyone have the scoop on this guy?
He seems to be doing pretty well in pre-season fantasy wise, but he only played 13 MPG last year. I don't follow Detroit at all. Is this guy gonna be a starter or what? He's listed as an SG/SF even though he's 6'11, which is pretty crazy. If he's playing at PF, there will be a lot of competition with Wilcox, CV31, Jerebko.
I picked him up over Yi anyhow. Hope that wasn't a mistake.

I'd pick up both Daye and Yi. Who else is on your team? I think Yi can be really good this season.

Re: Austin Daye?
It's not actually my team, but my friend's team. I'm kinda helping him, although I'm no fantasy expert.
I don't think he has a great team. It's a 12 team H2H league that takes into account PF's.
John Wall PG
Jameer Nelson PG
Andre Miller PG
Luke Ridnour PG
Jarrett Jack PG/SG
Ramon Sessions PG/SG
Arron Afflalo SG
Evan Turner SG/SF
Austin Daye SG/SF
Travis Outlaw SF/PF
Dirk Nowitzki PF
Paul Millsap PF
Anthony Randolph PF/C
Al Jefferson PF/C
Chris Bosh PF/C
Joakim Noah PF/C
imo Randolph and Turner won't live up to their hype.

I'd try to trade away Ridnour, Jack, Turner, Outlaw, and Randolph in 2-for-1 trades to consolidate talent.

Re: Austin Daye?
I like Daye, someone scooped him up in my league I was thinking about dropping Dunleavy or Delfino (don't like his inefficiency for my squad) for him... But on the flipside when the regular season starts if Daye is playing PF he's going to get thrown around on defense (not sure how many minutes he'll get due to fatigue, etc.) and he's going to get significantly less touches on the ball (which is the big thing, it's not like he' getting most of his points off of hustle players)... So he's a bit of fools gold IMO but is still a solid pickup... And if Tayshaun gets traded? Then oh boy...
Lastly... Don't bother with Yi. Just my two cents from watching him the last few years.

Re: Austin Daye?
There is a decent chance Daye is going to get the nod to start the season as the Pistons PF. He will probably play a multitude of positions however given his versatility. He has played great in the preseason. Given that the Pistons are rebuilding, common sense would dictate that once they begin to lose a good amount of games, Daye will begin seeing more PT.
I have him stashed in my dynasty league. From the looks of preseason, he can be a pretty good source for a number of categories. He honestly could be a good 9-category player.
But remember this is preseason, I'd pick him up if you have someone expendable and watch him play for a month and see what kind of PT he gets.
