Hart, Knight, Watson versus Price
The last three years the Jazz have picked up veteran point guards who were supposedly not going to miss a beat while Deron was on the bench. The problem is while these guys were supposed to be able to take care of the ball, be defensive minded, and were pass first point guards none of them could throw the ball in the ocean. Ronnie Price is Reggie Miller compared to these guys. Plus Price brings energy and athletcicism along with defense to the table. That's why he always keeps a spot in the rotation. This year its the same thing with Watson. After losing two reliable 3-point shooters in Korver and Matthews, and with another 3-point shooter, Memo out to start the season, you would think the Jazz would learn from their past mistakes and bring in a guy who can at least stretch the defense. It looks like the Jazz wasted a roster space on Watson. They could have kept Gaines at a cheaper price and maybe had enough money to add a 14th player (Jeffers, Thompson, etc.).

Always loved Price. I hope he stays here for a long time, I know some people don't like him but what ever, he is the ****.

My problem with price is he can get himself into the offense, but rarely does he get others into the offense. This means that price will score, but we lose our lead. That is why the jazz keep trying to get a pure pg, to try and get the 2nd unit involved. I like price as a scorer, sparkplug, but as our back up pg, I would pass.

Why are people giving up on Watson already after 6 games? Man, give this team time. Ask yourself this, can you think of a job you started without missing a beat? There's a learning curve with every job no matter what your skill level.

I agree the Jazz could use a shooter. But your suggestion of gaines is nuts he shot 26.9% from 3pt range. He is not the shooter you want.

I like when Price plays the 2 with DWill, he seems more like a SG then a PG. I love his hustle and have no problem giving him time as I know he will always play hard.

The one benifit to that is DWill can guard the 2's in the league and Price can guard the points. However DWill still controls the ball.

That's my biggest complaint too, although he seems a little better about it so far this season. Not great or anything, but improving. What I've liked about him so far this season, the first two games not withstanding, is that he has brought a lot of energy off the bench. And that's something this Jazz team just desperately, desperately needs.
My only other minor complaint about him. Hey Ronnie, if you get a chance to get a bucket in a close game, just lay it up, please. Now if there's a bit of a lead and you the ball open on a fast break, bring the rim down.

Re: Hart, Knight, Watson versus Price
I love Ronnie's energy, but I think his performances vs. Toronto and Golden State basically summed up who he is. Against Toronto, he was able to use his energy to provide an excellent spark and give the team a very nice overall game off the bench. Against Golden State, however, the energy was there, but it didn't lead to very much.
Ronnie's a great guy to have on your team due to his energy, athleticism and sparkplug potential, but he's not all that reliable. Really, the only thing you can count on from him is energy, which is great, but unfortunately not enough to make him anything more than a solid 10th or 11th man. I definitely like him as a 3rd string PG and situational SG, but not so much as a consistent part of the rotation at either position. If he continues to play better than Watson, he obviously deserves the minutes backing up Deron, but I think we need somebody better and I hope that Watson can be that somebody once he gets a little more comfortable.

Re: Hart, Knight, Watson versus Price
I am a huge Price fan and when he gets minutes no one out works him. He provides energy to the team and with the slow starts for the team getting him earlier to the game maybe a good idea. His main problem is he is not a PG and will never be a PG. His is a SG in a PG's body. He doesnt have PG skills. I wouldnt mind starting Price at SG giving the Jazz another scorer off the bench in Raja. Watson would be the back up PG.
Top 4 seed in the West!!! Guaranteed!!!

Re: Hart, Knight, Watson versus Price
Ronnie price has always been our rally PG! I think we should actually put watson and Price out there with CJ, Memo when he comes back so Elson now and Fes or Evans. I think Price is an energy combo guard while Watson once he gets our system down can run the offense well behind D-will!........and yes I miss Eric Maynor so bad its not even funny. I went nuts when we drafted him and am still alittle mad at KOK for taking him and Brew away from me!
