Man oh man do I miss Nick Collison...and other ramblings.

I know Nick is not an All-Star. And I am well aware he isn't an offensive dynamo. But he is a very reliable defensive anchor for the Thunder. He does everything well defensively except block shots. And right now this team NEEDS him. He has a very high BBIQ and he brings a great effort every night and he also led the league last year in charges taken. Not to mention he is a very good passing big man. He does the dirty work that no one wants to do. He sets screens to get his teammates open. This team needs and misses him on the floor.

Other ramblings. STOP FORCING THE ISSUE OF TRYING TO MAKE DURANT INTO A PLAYMAKER! At this point in his career he isn't and I think just about everyone on the planet is ok with that. I have no doubt that over the course of his career he will improve in this area. But it doesn't have to happen over night. Just stop! For the love of god just let him play off the ball. His is crazy effective that way and it gives Westbrook a chance to do what he does best too. Break down defenses by exploding to the rack and find the open man for the jumper.

Instead of putting the ball in Durant's hands why not put the ball in Harden's hands and let him do more than simply spot up and shoot the 3ball? I agree with other's in here, Harden needs to have the ball in his hands more to be utilized correctly.

I'm not a huge +/- guy but the one positive from the Boston game was Ibaka starting. He was the only player on the team that had a positive +/- from that game, and his was a +15. Ibaka needs to start purely for defensive reasons. And if the Thunder are going to commit to Jeff Green as the PF of the future then they need to package Ibaka and Harden and see if they can land a guy like Noah. Then trade Aldrich for a SG. But if Jeff Green is not the answer at PF then they need to commit to Ibaka and give the kid the keys to the paint and the starting PF spot.

Lastly Brooks. Well I have been pretty underwhelmed this season with what has been going on with this team. We still see Durant in an ISO at the top of the arch jacking up contested 3's to close out quarters. The defense sucks and so does the offense.

The good...Durant is a notorious slow starter, the season is only 6 games deep and the Thunder are 3-3. Last year the Thunder didn't really jump out of the gate either and they won 52 games.

Right now I'm not really sold on Brooks but I'm willing to give the guy more than 6 games. If the team looks this bad 20 games in, then I will have more serious concern. And honestly considering Brooks won coach of the year last year, his job is secure until the off season. So sit back and enjoy the Durant ISO's, because Brooks is here until June people.

i was about to make a thread that pretty much said this. but i believe that one of two things happen this franchise is going to plateau...

1) scott brooks hires an assistant that actually knows how to run an offence that can bring out the talents of our players (harden, green).

2) harden/green are traded and we bring in players that can fit in with scott brook's broke arse offensive system. the vaunted okc defence is going to come back. but unless our offence becomes real were going to become the atlanta hawks of the west.. were going to be good in the regular season. but the fact of the matter is that were an easy out.

UNLESS SOMETHING CHANGES HARDEN IS GOING TO BE A BUST IN OKC...

hes a supremely talented player and scott brooks's offence is killing him.. we need change before we turn into atlanta.

look at atlanta now with the new motion offence. players are playing much better than atlanta looks like an elite team. the thunder are talented but something with our offence needs to change...

I'm afraid everyone will be disappointed when Nick Collison comes back. He will make a difference but I don't think it'll be as big as people hope.

For the most part I can accept Green's play so far. I believe he is being asked to do to much so he does more than he should.

The offense won't get much better unless there is drastic change. There is no excuse for this team being last in the league in assists. There is no ball movement and to much dribbling for nothing.

This team relies on FTs way to much. If they aren't getting to the line it looks like they don't know what to do.

Brooks should start Harden and see if it helps his confidence. Green should come off the bench and provide the spark. I believe he could be more consistent at it.

Thabo should only play when we play an elite wing. He doesn't bring anything to the offense and the staff isn't hiding him to well on that side.

Westbrook and KD more passing less dribbling.
