If you can shoot 3's and can't rebounds/play defense, you can get up to 10mil.

How much does a car cost?

The highest paid players are around $4 million a year with varying tax regimes depending on the country.

If you play in the Swiss 2nd division it is about $3000 a month

there's no such high tax rate in europe so the salaries on book are roughly the exact amount going into their pockets.

European countries generally have a higher tax rate than the US, actually. You may be confused by the fact that Europeans salaries are often reported post-tax (because the team pays the taxes), so in order to compare US and European salaries, you have to adjust for that.

Teams don't really pay the taxes. It's a PAYE system. They collect the taxes on behalf of the government from employees as a provisional payment.

Net salaries oscillate between roughly $10.000/season in the Portuguese secondary divisions or German regional leagues to a few millions dollars in the top Euroleague clubs

Here in Belgium the highest ever annual salary is 2.5mil .. I think teams like Olympiacos, Barcelona and the russian teams got payrolls close to the lower NBA teams ..

Linas Kleiza recieved 6M a year at Olympiacos. 2 yrs/12,000,000 total but he declined the 2nd year of the contract to play in the NBA.

Top salaries usually are about 5M though.
