Matt Bonner!

Post#1 » by SApuro_ » Tue Nov 23, 2010 5:13 am

Look I will be the first to admit I wasn't high on resigning Matty. The guy has proved his worth weight in gold so far though. For the 3+ mil per we are paying him he is earning every penny. For all the bums making twice as much as Bonner and not producing the Spurs made another under the radar resign.

I started thinking Bonner has really played great for us his entire stink as a Spur. If not for a broken hand last year he would have been knocking in long balls all year round.

We are 12-1 and really cruising. We are putting away quality teams now and I dont want us to over look the hard work Bonner and the other bench guys like Dice.

I always liked Matt Bonner. His 3 point shooting is useful for a big to have and really makes our offense that much more dangerous. I think we have the 1st best offense in the league after tonight's win haha.

Bonner has been amazing.

It's great because TP and Manu have been able to be so aggressive in the paint, and this has helped Bonner shoot and vice versa.

Nobody could have predicted these performances from him preseason :\

The good thing of Bonner was that he hustle very much for some rebounds.. and the 3pointers are falling. but the new thing was his defense and rebounding.

Never doubt Pop again. RJ and Bonner have proved us all wrong.

I've always thought that Bonner has been unfairly treated by a good portion of Spurs fans. He's a decent player. He plays to his strengths and always gives it his all out there. He's well aware of his limitations as a player.

I've always liked Bonner and appreciated what he brings to the table. I never questioned his extension this summer or anything. We might not be the best team in the league with him but he is a good player. I just hope the guys that are always criticizing him remember the good games when he has the occasional 0-for-5 shooting night or hits a tough stretch down the road.

I think everyone knows that Bonner's best attributes is his 3 point shooting and hustle. I've said that I think Bonner won't be the odd man out (with Splitter here) even when it comes playoff time. A lot of you guys are saying Splitter is too good that he'll be starter by February or even from the first game of the season. Bonner gives us something the perimeter group of Hill, Parker, Manu, TD and RJ needs; shooting from it's big men.

Now about the contract, unless he continues to make 70% of his 3 point shots til the end of his contract, then it's still not a good deal. A good shooting stretch in November doesn't make him worth his contract. It was overpaid and it will continue to be overpaid. He got that money more out of loyalty.

I was one of the biggest critics of resigning RJ and Bonner and both of them have made me look like a idiot. Matt Bonner has been amazing this year, he's gives 110% out there and he's a lights out shooter.
