Raymond Felton's case for the All Star Game
17.5 PPG
7.6 Assists per game
4.1 rebounds per game
59% TS%
20 PER
47% FG%
This guy is just having a flat out great year. I'm going to assume Rose & Rondo, respectively, are locks for the all-star game.
That leaves 1 spot open at the PG position out of Felton, Wall, and Devin Harris.
Which one of these guys will make the all-star team this year? Does Felton have a case?

Ray Ray has been great, but no way do the Knicks deserve 2 all-stars.

same, I figure he would excel more in this system so I invested a pretty high pick on him

Re: Raymond Felton's case for the All Star Game
Felton has been a beast this year. His attitude is fantastic. Dude is a warrior through and through and always leaves it all on the court. His defense is also something that isnt in your stats.
But yea most of us Knick fans had Ray at about 15-18 ppg, 7-10 apg and hes playing in that vein. His shooting % has been the best part about him, as some of us were worried that his numbers last year were just a fluke. Far from it.
Felton has a shot at the ASG if the Knicks keep winning. Making the ASG, especially if you're right on the cusp with other players, all depends on how good your team does. Is it a given that 3 PGs make it?

Nope. There could be some shuffle room.
But Felton might sneak in if he keeps this up and Knicks keep improving.

Re: Raymond Felton's case for the All Star Game
As much as I like Felton, Wall, and Harris, it is sad that one of them could be going when out West, only 1 between Westbrook, Ellis, Parker, Billups, Ginobili, Roy, Curry, Tyreke, Kidd, Martin, Gordon, etc will be going.

Honestly, he been the most effective Knick this season but was always talented but Charlotte had a better PG in Augustin so Felton had to go.

I think as of right now the hoopla surrounding Wall combined with the fact hes averaging more points and assists would get him in over Ray. However if it comes down to a coaches vote the veteran whos put in his time would probably get the nod.

Wall would probably get picked first on hype, Augustin certainly deserves it more, maybe Harris also.

Actually, if you take a closer look East is really thin on guards. Despite all the big names, besides Rondo & Rose, no one's having a particulary great season.
If the Knicks continue to win games (which i doubt), a little midget might have a shot.

So anything any player does while playing for D'Antoni or the Warriors doesn't count anymore? Oh yea, and if you do anything against a D'Antoni team or the Warriors it doesn't count either.

He's always been a pretty good player, he never got to show it on a team as slow and untalented as the Bobcats.

Re: Raymond Felton's case for the All Star Game
No way..
Howard/Noah/Horford
Garnett/Josh Smith
James/Granger/Pierce
*Carter
Wade/Rose/Rondo
Then there is Wallace/S.Jackson, Harris, and a few others making strong cases. Is it me, or does the Western reserves simply CRUSH the whole East team?
*Carter is still gets a ton of votes due to being a household name for the casual fan

Re: Raymond Felton's case for the All Star Game
While he deserves to be in the discussion, the allstar game became nothing more than sideshow to me lately.
When fans can vote for guys who are either injuried or just because of prior reputation and not merit took the fun of watching it for me.
That said, I hope he keeps it up because if he plays well, the Knicks play well.

Wait, so John Wall would get in on hype but Augustin deserves it more? So you're saying Augustin is the more deserving player than Wall, Felton, and Harris?... Really?
If there is a third PG, John Wall will get it and not on "hype", it'll be on merit.
18.9 ppg 9.3 ast, 3 stls, 3.9 rbs, 44 fg%, 39 3ptfg%, and 4 topg.
The turnovers are bad but he's been getting better with only 1 turnover last night.
