Hey guys, Dubs fan here. How do you guys feel about Presti's James Harden pick? Would you rather have had Steph?

For what the Thunder are building I think Harden was the better pick. Presti is looking to build a championship team in the mold of the Spurs. You can compare the demeanor of Duncan and Durant very close. Both are cerbreal type of guys who really work hard every game and every practice. I think Harden will eventually become what Presti wanted when he picked him: a multi purpose 2 guard.
Curry is what he is: a scoring wing! You guys have the same type player just about 6 to 7 inches taller and a better all around wing than Curry. Let Curry throw up 30-40 points in a loss. Your guys drops 28-30 with boards and wins!

Except Curry plays point guard, and is arguably the best passer in his draft class. ;) Harden is a great player for sure, and I loved him coming out of the draft. But Curry's shown himself to have the potential to be a generational player, and I can't help but drool at the premise of Westbrook, Curry and Durant playing on the same team.

That's why Presti took Harden. Curry and Westbrook would not work in a playoff series. There is not enough balls for all three of them. And Curry being the best passer in his draft class is not saying a lot! I would still have chosen Harden to pair with Westbrook.

I think comparing Curry to Harden is the wrong thing to do. You should compare Curry to Westbrook because they would be essentially playing the same position. Even though Curry and Harden were in the same draft. Selecting Curry in the draft over Harden would have meant either trading Westbrook or playing them together. and the lader would not be a good thing for building a Championship Team!

He started this topic for the wrong reasons as evident in post #4.

Harden if he ends up starting since I don't want to see Westbrook at the 2

Curry if we continue using him off the bench

Curry's the better player now, but I still like Harden's potential to fit into what we want to do.

I like Harden's potential defensively about 100X's more than Curry's. And in my mind defensive teams win rings.

But Curry is the better player today by a decent margin today. That kid can really shoot and he is a nice passer too. His "D" is pretty bad though.
