As a Houstonian who still feels the sting of the Luv Ya Blue Betrayal, I don't want to see fans in cities lose their teams. We know how much that sucks. But hypothetically speaking if the NBA does go into a lockout and they find themselves in an even bigger financial mess than we realize let's say that they do decide to shuffle the deck.
Here's your task: Get the NBA back down to 28 teams. This means that two must be contracted. I'm going to institute what I am calling the "Jazz/Mavericks Rule;" which means that you just can't contract a team because you don't like them. You have to have good reasons why you feel that the NBA could stand to lose the franchises in question.
Which leads us to the next part: You may also relocate up to 4 teams; but once again they must make sense.
Your assignment, if you choose to accept it, is:
1) Fold two franchises
2) Relocate 0-4 franchises
3) Do something nice for someone else
(just thought I'd throw that last one out there.
