Re: Andray too be traded?
I would be open to trading Dray, but I wouldn't just trade him for anything. If we trade him now, we would be selling low. I guarantee you guys that if we were to trade Blatche today, the player/s we would acquire wouldn't be as good as him. He's play has been far from impressive lately and + the fight, his stock has been plummeting. It wouldn't make sense for us to trade him when you know we would get somebody worse the him.
I know a lot of you guys want Cousins, but even though he's been a headcase for Sac-Town all year, I doubt they give him away for Blatche, especially the way Blatche has been playing this season. Cousins has been a problem child, but it usually takes a while for bigs to develop and I think the Kings want to hold onto him a bit longer before they start taking offers. They know that he's really talented but they just need a coach that will mature him. I'm not sure if Westpaul is that guy though.
Anyway, I still have faith in Dray. It's tough to recover from an injury like he had in the summer. Plus, he's been playing with a nagging knee injury all season, so who knows if he %100 right now. His defense has shown promise lately. Ever since that Toronto game, he's been a changed man, seeming to put more effort on that end. I think he's just in a slump right now and as he gets back into shape and regains confidence in his shot, I think he will start to play better.

It would be very stupid to give up on Blatche at this point. His contract is not huge, he's young, clearly talented and we've already invested 5+ years in his development. He needs some guidance, someone he can work with to help him stay focused like Kareem did with Andrew Bynum. If he can keep his head on straight there's no reason he can't be a consistent 18/10 guy for us. Besides, trading him now will net us virtually nothing since he's been playing terribly the past couple weeks. Honestly though, I am really curious to see what a guy like Gregg Popovich can get out of Blatche.

If it's true that the Wizards are looking to trade Blatche (and I don't give the rumor much credence), you gotta hand it to EG and Flip for the way they're going about it. Flip has force fed Blatche all the minutes he can handle in order to jack up his trade value (if indeed they're planning to trade him).
Of course, there's not much Flip and EG can do to keep Blatche from being a knucklehead in the clubs.

if we could get cousins for blatche then by all means do it. that's not giving up on blatche that's a great trade for blatche. b.atche is better now but cousins has better potential.
trading blatche for patterson (something im not necessarily against - under the eg's gonna screw the trade up anyway so might as well propose something that sucks but has some upside principle) is giving up on blatche (or eg).

Re: Andray too be traded?
Well if they were thinking about it then Blatche just delayed that idea.
If it was trading low for the club thing, it would be really trading low now.
IMO, you have to ride it out longer with him to get the best value. Injuries, slow start and now this ? Now wouldn't be ideal.
With our new line ups since adding Howard and Lewis, Dray should be getting his best opprotunity.
Very disappointed about the latest Club news regarding both Dray and Mcgee. These are not the kind of personalities we need on this team. You can have younger players but the amount of Club going knuckle heads like this have to be very limited on a team. Just to much immaturity. Youll never develop a winning culture if you have this crap happening instead of them staying focused on why they are making MILLIONS. Specially in two starters.
Time to grow up kiddies or move them to the bench or another team. I'm tired of the immature crap. I'm sure Flip is also.

Ha! Selling low? That's EG's specialty. We just sold off the face of our franchise for a dented can of pinto beans and an $18 million dollar IOU. We'll probably end up with Jason Maxiell and the temporary rights to a forklift to drop him off at the Verizon Center knowing the type of hardball negotiations Ernie engages in on the phones.
Ernie: I wanted to see if you were interested in Andray.
GM: Sure, what do you suppose you want for him?
Ernie: I'd like to get Evan Turner and a 1st rounder.
GM: I don't think that's going to happen.
Ernie: Okay, what would you offer?
GM: Jason Kapono or Darius Songalia, your choice.
Ernie: I see, any way I could get one them and 2011 1st rounder?
GM: No
Ernie: How bout at least one of them and a future 2nd rounder?
GM: No
Ernie: Can we at least get future considerations?
GM: No
Ernie: Okay, Darius for Andray sounds like a fair deal to me. I'll send it to the league office.
GM: It's always a pleasure doing business with you Ernie! Your one of my favorite people to deal with.
Ernie: Thanks, I always pride myself on my ability to be a fair negotiator.
GM: Yep, you sure are (snickering). Anytime you wanna talk, don't hesitate to call (champagne glasses clink in the background).

I would feel like dancing if they moved Andray. I cannot stand watching him anymore.
For those who said he needs guidance. He's had it every year his been in the NBA and he's done stupid things every single season off the court. He is what he is.
How many times does he mess up before it's like hello? He's not a winner!
I hope he's gone by the trade deadline.

Re: Andray too be traded?
This team is distressing. Blatche showed what he could do next to Singleton. He is extremely skilled and can be a go to big. I posted last season he is on par with LaMarcus Aldridge. This season he suffered injury and hasn't played as well. Folks are sick of him.
The problems with trading him are his contract and the low return the Wizards are bound to get. I think Blatche is the player to trade before McGee, but it would be crazy not to get serious value in return.
Washington will give him or McGee away for sure. Perhaps both.
Unless they get back Cousins or a promising big I will be disappointed but happy for Andray to see him go.

C'mon Dat2U, that's not fair. EG has his failings as a GM, but buying high and selling low isn't one of them. EG didn't sell low on Arenas. Arenas' value was at a permanently low point because he no longer was prepared to give 100% in games. EG may have failed in the way things were handled in the aftermath of the gun incident (and I think the state of ownership played a role), but there weren't any trade options any better and the status quo was unacceptable.
In hindsight, EG's history on trades has been decent, perhaps modestly above-average.
Great trades:
Kwame for Butler
Jamison for Thornton
Cap relief for Hinrich + Seraphin
Fair trades:
#5 for Jamison
Bad, but not horrible trades:
Haywood + Butler + Stevenson for Josh Howard and cap relief
#5 for Miller and Foye + cap relief (Doesn't look too bad unless you assume we would have drafted Curry. Every other player available at #5 looks to be pretty much a bust.)
Horrible, senseless, stupid trades (but fortunately, minor ones):
Protected MEM pick for Crittenton
Cap relief for Yi

Re: Andray too be traded?
Why is everybody talking Blatche for Cousins? Is this a serious rumor or is this a hypothetical trade proposal?
But anyway, I am all for trading Blatche..just not at this moment. We should let his value go up a little and then trade him before the deadline. But the drawback is, he doesn't make that much money. McGee and Blatche in the same frontcourt is a joke. One of them has to go and I believe Blatche is the one we should get rid of. He doesn't give enough effort.
