Not happening
Is it to much to ask for a team that plays hard and cares? Seems so.

I'm definitely on the Nash train. If could somehow get him were instant contenders IMO. But without giving them Craw for some cap relief it's not going to happen unless they really just want to unload him.

Re: We want Steve Nash
I don't see a problem in letting Crawford go if we get Nash. Maybe the Suns would want throw a bad contract or something and we could take Nash+Hill+ whoever for Crawford, Marvin and a 1st round. If we get Nash, only the Lakers, Celtics and the Heat would be better than us. As of right now, we are the 5th best team in the East, likely to have trouble in the first round and get swept in the 2nd round if we make it that far.
GO HAWKS.

with Jamal gone who would be our go to score from the second unit? if we had more depth on the bench I wouldn't mind moving JC1.

So you want to give your garbage for a two time MVP averaging 17/10 on a terrible team who could possibly push you to the ECF?
We don't want Marvin, or Bibby, or Jordan, or your 25-30 late first round picks. Keep that garbage, and we'll keep Nash. Talk to us when you wanna involve Smith in trade talks, or gtfo.

Smith won't be included in any trade that doesn't bring back a star player in their prime..... Nash doesn't fit in the category. Star player? yes! In his prime? Hell no! If it would cost us Smith, keep Nash for the rest of this year then loose him next year for nothing........"Lebron James"! and we will get Nash for next year playoff run.

So you want to get a King's ransom for a 36 year old point guard who is only signed through next season? You are not gonna get a ton in return, especially not any good young players like Horford or Smith in return. You don't give up very good youth for a 2 who probably is only going to play another year and a half. Even if the Suns offer Lopez as well, I would decline. Lopez just hasn't been that great this year.

Re: We want Steve Nash
Personally I thought the suggestion of Jamal Crawford, Mike Bibby, Mo Evans, and 2 1st round picks for Nash, Hill, and Frye to be a fair offer and possibly overpaying.
1). It doesn't push Phoenix into luxury tax this year.
2). It gives 2 1st round picks for a 37 year old PG.
3). Crawford and Evans expire this year, and Bibby only has 1 more year making him a trade resource next year/summer.
4). In addition to Nash's 2 year deal we would be taking Channing Frye's 4 years starting at 5M+ off your hands. That's a bad contract.
I hate giving up Jamal Crawford, but it's the only way to make the contracts work without Phoenix taking on Marvin Williams. Williams only makes sense for Phoenix if they plan on playing him at PF because they've already invested in Childress and Dudley at SF. It's too big of a stretch for me to believe they see something in Marvin since no one else seems to have that opinion right now. The deal as stated gives Phoenix salary relief and picks and gives 2 vets a chance at one more run in Atlanta. Phoenix can wait for summer to trade Nash, but at that point he won't merit 2 picks and the new CBA might make it difficult to find good matches for his salary. Phoenix could also just hold on to Nash. He'll entertain, but failure to use him to jump start rebuilding will likely make Phoenix a Western version Indiana, which means a long slow rebuilding process of late lottery finishes with most cap room being eaten up with overpaid supporting players. Indiana has been just short of .500 for about 6 years in spite of striking gold with Danny Granger in the middle of the draft and next year they finally clear enough cap room to start rebuilding right. Not the most rosy outlook for the Suns.

Nah, we're not giving up Frye. Believe it or not, Frye is one of the most important players on the Suns, with his ability to shoot the 3 ball, and space the floor for our second unit.

At some point...Nash will be DONE...just like anyone else. As-is...he can't D a lot of guys. He can't lose a step and still do his stuff on offense. If the Suns care to deal him...yeah,they get something but as soon as this time next year,Nash could look like a shadow of himself. Fans often are reluctant to admit when a guy is near the end...yet as often will be desperately trying to get all they can before it's too late...while acting like their guy has another decade to go.
CENSORED... No comment.
