Beasley's minutes?

Post#1 » by LAWKK » Wed Feb 2, 2011 6:33 pm

Hey...Heat fan here wondering whats the word with Beas over the past couple games? Any reason his minutes have declined to 28 and 24? Is it expected to stay this way?

Thanks

Vs Toronto - 23:51 He, like the rest of the starters, got pulled for pretty much the entire second half because the game was already won. (Love only played 24:26).

VS Utah - 27:52 He had 3 fouls and 5 turnovers, and his backups, Johnson and Webster, were playing better.

VS OKC - 44:13

You should look at our other starters minutes. We crushed the Raptors, so there was really no point to play Beasley more than 24 minutes, or any of our other starters for that matter. As for the 28, I think Rambis just wanted to get some other players more minutes. Webster has been pretty non-existent since he got back from injury, and Rambis probably wanted to remedy that.

He's also been getting back into shape after spraining his ankle and didn't play much in those games.

In Utah his backups were playing better? that is a joke right? he had a double double and had 14 at halftime. He only had 2 shot attempts in the 3rd qtr. Rambis screwed up with him at Utah. Johnson was not his backup against Utah either, they were playing at the same time.

This past game...why is Beasley only getting 26 minutes? he was efficient scoring the ball. Love gets 36 minutes...Beasley only gets 26. That doesn't seem like a good formula for winning games.

Anyone else get the feeling that Beasley just hasn't been into it the past month-plus?

Watching, it just seems like there are spurts where he's forcing the issue on possession after possession, and then he disappears.

Actually, thinking back, I feel like there have only been a handful of games where he's seemed to be playing strong within the system with the rest of the team. I'm sure you could say this about most of the team, it just seems to stand out with Beasley because he's so much fun to watch when it's going.

If he's getting his minutes cut, it's probably just Rambis trying to teach the way we've seen a few times the last year and half. There have been minutes, "issues," with Love, Wes, Flynn, Ellington... pretty much all the young players.

It's probably just getting the guys off the floor if they're not doing the right thing in the system. Keep them from getting accustomed to the wrong thing and point out what the right thing is.

The one thing I've noticed with Beasley throughout the years is that he doesn't react well to tough love, but he responds well to a coach giving him reassurances and encouragement. I'm not saying he shouldn't get yelled at on occasion, everyone does, but I don't think he ever responds well to minutes being slashed. Spo ruined the kids confidence in Miami by doing it. Its up to the coach to figure out the best ways to motivate a player. Lets not try to fit the round peg into the square hole

Heat fan here too , try to follow Beas and the Wolves. Jsut cannot get your team, tend to score enough to win but the other team scores more. Always seem to be in it at 1/2 but lose it at the end. Love puts up eye popping numbers but is it affecting the game at all?

I was waiting for Flynn to get back and now that he has been back it seems like they were better with him hurt. Just doesnt make sense. Im so confused. Why isnt Darko dominating.

Beasley hasnt been the same lately.. Shooting is falling off but he is being more aggressive and getting to the line. He is due a monster game but will the system allow for it.

I dont know if Minutes are a problem for Beas but at this point its more about the team than Beasley. Winning changes all. Chemistry needs to improve. Team defense and holding other teams under 100 should be the first goal then minutes can be figured out later.
