Trade idea w/Pistons

Post#1 » by DCintheD » Tue Feb 8, 2011 5:43 pm

Pistons fan here wanting to know if Utah fans would welcome the idea of trading for Tayshaun Prince and Rip Hamilton for the expiring contracts of AK, CJ Miles, and Ronnie Price. I can't think of a better system these two would thrive in other than Utahs and with the playoff experience they have I can see them challenging the top teams in the West. It seems like time is running out for Utah management to keep Williams happy and for Sloan to get over the hump. What do you guys think? Sorry if this has been mentioned before I just want to know Jazz fans perspective. Thanks

Not your fault.

Honestly, I might consider a version of this.

It's only been proposed about 500 times in the last year, but it's not like we have a stickied trade thread or anything, so those threads fall off the front page (and fall off very quickly).

So, not your fault. But if a regular member of this forum posts a Rip or Prince trade proposal, let the face-punching begin.

Where do I sign up to approve this!

I would do that in a heartbeat, while rips contract is a bit bad he is one of the best mid range shooters in the lg we can run the play we ran for korver again, and Tayshaun (not sure what his contract is) is as capable as AK probably not a better shot blocker or passer, but better scorer by far and although he has a deformed skull he is a player I welcome with open arms.

Giving up CJ we would lose shooting, the shooting where he is on fire for 1 game out of 20. We probably add shooting with the trade given AK is miserable shooter and CJ is off and on. Defensively we prob lose a bit, at this point IDK how tays D is.

IF we waited this long for AK's contract I am sure as hell willing to wait a few yrs for Rips.

That pushes us over the lux tax next year, so it's a no (just not worth it). Memo+Bell for Rip I would consider (and Pistons fans say they would do it too) but not this.

If I thought the Jazz were a Rip Hamilton away from going to the Finals, then I'd do this deal, but since they're not I don't see how you can take on Rip's albatross of a contract.

Why would the Jazz agree to pay Rip twice what they opted against paying Wesley Matthews?

Yeah that's a great point. I guess I'd love to have Rip but his contract would really screw us over for a while. Jazz need to let Kirilenko's contract expire and go from there.

This is the part where I ask for body parts from Rip and a picture of Prince holding a current copy of a newspaper for verification that they are even still ALIVE...

Rip to R.I.P. Who knew it was gonna go like that for him? A shame.
