OT: Grant Hill is in my physic's book

Chapter 4- question 23 (page 139): Grant Hill jumps 1.3 meters straight up into the air to slam-dunk a basketball into the net. With what speed did he leave the floor?

Yeah, he can still jump more than 4 feet (48 inches?!) into the air when this book was published in 2010

haha, Paul Pierce is in my 1st year Psych text.

It was the section relating to "playing through the pain" and had the picture of him jogging back onto the court after being carried out.

I lol'd pretty hard in the library and got some weird looks.

His initial velocity is approximately 26 m/s (taking g=10m/s/s instead of 9.8m/s/s), assuming all other factors (such as air resistance) are negligible.
Unrelated to the point but whatever. :D
