They were interested and generous in Sac when things were good.
But not so much when things are bad.
They want easy money.
Socal is easy money.
They probably need the money to pay the Empty Casino in a depression bills.
Likely they have to move to keep the Palms from failing like they ran the Kings in the ground.
I doubt it will help for too long.
But they will move to postpone their own personal financial crash.
Sac is powerless with no money to help.
It sucks for Sac, but either way they would be screwed. Pay big for a half filled state of the art arena for an owner that won for a decade, then continually shot themsleves in a foot since. Or lose the Kings.
Sucks either way.
I agree with a lot of this. No one can really say the city of Sacramento is completely blameless, but really to be fair Sac is between a rock and a hardplace. Just like it's not all Sac's fault it's not all the Maloof's either, but let's all forget the "Maloof's are great business men" bs. Over the last few years they've turned their dad's billion dollar empire into a shadow of its former self, primarily by over extending itself into their casino.
For those that want to to help
