Deron Williams appreciation thread
Obviously this is a tumultuous time right now, and opinions on Deron are mixed, but you have to appreciate what he did here.
We had our best season since the final years when he led us to the WCF, and he was a great player to watch for 6 years. He's got the best crossover in the league, hit a ton of big shots, and proved everyone wrong in comparisons to Chris Paul.
He's a stud and I'm sad to see him go. I really thought we had a chance to win a ring with him at the point.

Actually the best compliment I can pay Deron is that for a stretch of about one year he made the Paul/D-Will argument a reasonable one. Outside of that stretch (in which Paul was injured) Paul has consistently been the better player of the two. I've always felt the Jazz screwed up on that pick, but at least Deron made it close.

I'll save my stronger Deron thoughts for elsewhere, and just say this: the Western Conference Finals run is one of my favorite memories as a sports fan, and Deron was the engine running that machine. Goodbye, sir. I don't wish you any luck whatsoever, but you sure can play the game of basketball.

I appreciate the way DWill embraced living in Utah, maybe up until recently. He was very involved in the community, and gave back a ton. He seemed to kind of make the Jazz relevant.
It was also a pleasure to watch him play. Dude has game. He is a fierce competitor, and always wanted to win above all else.

I appreciated this as well. His involvement really stood out compared to the lack of involvement from other guys we've seen.

I don't think anything that happened the past few months was because he wanted brighter lights and a town he like better. I think he likes it here.

I feel more like this then some other posts.
I believe the man has an insufferable ego. Hell of a player, but less of man.

Re: Deron Williams appreciation thread
Up until this year, I was happy with Williams over Paul, but William's attitude got the best of him this year. I'm not going to let a few months of the Jazz struggling to over shadow the good memories I had of Deron. I wish him the best in the rest of his career and will be following closely.

I love Deron's game and attitude towards the game. He was tough, driven and had the talent to go all the way. We were lacking toughness on this team and now we just got weaker. We are now a leaderless group of beta dogs with a rookie coach.
To all you guys hating on Deron you are going to inherit the team you deserve. We are going to be pretty damn soft and weak.
On the flip side, I do think Deron was gone next year so it's not the worst trade ever. Time to start over again though. Hopefully we can draft a gem like we did with Deron.

Good times, clutch, vintage playoff performances, but ultimately I'll remember him for Sloan leaving.

Well since unlike many here(including alot of posters acting like they really know Deron as a person) I don't blame Deron for Sloan retiring, he was my favorite Jazz player and altho I don't HATE the trade talant-wise, I am not happy about it and will miss cheering for Deron in a Jazz uniform...For those of you hanging on Paul's nuts again I guess you forgot who the PG was that was demanding a trade before the season...honestly I'm a Jazz fan but there are alot of posters on this board I can't stand and altho they are not the majority, they surely seem to have posted in droves lately....

Im just glad this era is over because he never could compair to John Stockton!!! If he had half the class and leadership and heart that man had this team would be a lot better off and who knows how many more wins this franchise would of gotten in the playoffs and each season.
Lets Go Jazz!!!!

why would you even post this in an appreciation thread??? Seems like clear baiting and/or trolling IMHO
