This may sound like a bit of a stretch, but it wouldn't surprise me.
Sloan always said "sometimes the best trade is the one you don't make."
We knew every year that at the trade deadline, the likelihood of us making a blockbuster trade was insignificant because Sloan hated making big changes mid season.
Sloan leaves, and a week later the Jazz make the biggest trade in the history of the franchise? Coincidence? I don't think so.
I think under Sloan, this trade gets vetoed because Sloan thinks the Jazz still have a chance if they make the playoffs. Under Corbin, the Jazz realize they aren't winning a ring this year, and with a potential lock out looming, this may be the only chance we have to trade Deron.
This is the first big change of the post Sloan era, a willingness to make moves to build for the future instead of just throwing out the same thing 100 times a year hoping it fixes itself.

I think there some truth to that as the timing makes it look like Sloan maybe left bc maybe KOC wanted to pull off a big deal like this one. I find it hard to believe there werent any preliminary talks between KOC and the Nets GM who are friends and work well together.
Top 4 seed in the West!!! Guaranteed!!!

Are you guys really this stupid to even think that could happen really.............. Your the same fans who said a week ago that Deron would never walk out on the Jazz and the Jazz would never trade Deron too right?
