Derrick Favors(notes)
Devin Harris(notes)
2011 first-round pick (New Jersey)
2012 first-round pick (Golden State)
$3 million

Sure you lost D Will, but damn' you guys got an amazing package back.

I really don't think you would have got an offer like this in the offseason.

It's not going to be fun playing you guys once that all comes to fruition, plus you guys get every call at home ;), friggin' THUNDERDOME at home.

Thanks. Deron Williams was beginning to get really nasty, and if he was leaving, I doubt we could of got a better package in return. There is a 65% chance that the Nets land one of 6 highest picks in the draft (as of now), with about a 20% chance of getting a top 3 pick. The pick has 0 protection. The GSW's pick has some protection, top 7 in 2012, and top 6 in 2013-14. I figure we get a pick from them in the 8-12 range. I could see Utah combining the picks as a package for a proven SG.

As far as Devin Harris as a replacement...

15.5ppg 8.5apg 4.5apg in just over 30mpg. PER36 wise, that's 18.3ppg 10apg 5.3rpg!

That's with just two practices under his belt. Give him time, he's going to blossom.

This trade is going to be a steal for the Jazz. The Nets though needed to take risk, and I think they are in the right direction. I do think they gave up much too early on Favors though.

Favors is who we were shooting for all of last season with the Knicks pick, but unfortunately the Knicks had some hot stretches and it dropped us to #9 in the draft. Now it doesn't look too bad though...

We've had a busy year (including last trade dealine):

Out: Williams, Boozer, Mathews, Korver, Brewer, Koufos
In: Jefferson, Harris, Favors, Nets #1, Bell, Hayward, GSW #1, Watson, Evans, Elson

Jefferson and Favors can both play center, and can swat shots, two things Boozer can't do. Millsap is also getting more playing time too, which in effect means, much better defense. When Okur returns at full health next season, we're going to have incredible depth off the bench. Only thing I could say that we lost is rebounding, but not so fair to say since Okur has been hurt all year, and Favors is going to help us alot in that department.

The swingmen situation is difficult to access, but Brewer and Korver are two guys who were hard to depend upon. Korver was constrantly hurt, and Brewer has had his share of injuries since. Mathews was the guy we really miss though. Bell has been inconsistent, but I knew it would be an up and down season for him, since he sat out most of last season. Hayward meanwhile has shown strides month to month. Jeremy Evans doesn't get the PT, but when he plays he has displayed a lot of energy, and can fly out of the building. He's still pretty raw though. We clearly need to get a SG that can take us over the top.

Wont get too into the whole Deron Williams thing right now, but I'm a bit sour with him and his attitude of late, and the possibility that we lost Sloan cause of him. I do have to admit though, that while we haven't exactly notched wins with Ty Corbin, he's done a few things differently that I really like,, and if he can really embrace this new opportunity, it might have been the direction we needed to go after all. I like Harris' court vision and his speed allows to do plenty of pass penetration, something we didn't get as much with Williams. I like Harris' chemistry the last two games, more than William's since December. Watson is a big improvement for a backup PG. Hell since December, he probably has a better +/- than Williams, and key in many wins this season.

It's been a tough season, but it's gotten really exciting, and there are things to be optimistic about as a Jazz fan. Sorry for making this post so long.

What's that? Sorry, I couldn't hear you over the sound of Steve Javie giving Kobe free throws.

... :)

You're absolutely right, though. Great package for him, and one we definitely wouldn't have gotten a few months down the line.
