Brooks' playbook

Post#1 » by BIG EDDIE » Mon Feb 28, 2011 6:16 pm

Quote from the other day:

Brooks said beforehand that Mohammed and Robinson should be ready to contribute immediately. “It probably doesn’t say good about my playbook, but I think they picked it up pretty good,” he said. “I should just lie to you guys. ‘They’re only on Page 1 right now.”’

Well, that tells me the whole story about this Thunder team.
There is not much of a playbook existant.
They are young, talented, hard-working, humble, hungry, BUT they are not playing smart enough.
Hopefully, Perks and Nate can teach these guys (including Brooks) how to play organized, smart b-ball on both ends of the floor. Boston is maybe the best example how it should be done, so those two guys could bring in some needed expertise.
Life may not be the party we hoped for but while we are here we might as well dance!

not surprising. Most of our players are so young and we need to instill the basics and discipline in them. X's and O's can wait.

I think Perk will provide a lot of toughness and will be a vocal leader out on the floor defensively.

Wow one page? That is just silly! The team does do a lot of standing around and letting KD or Russ take a player one on one.

I don't see it. Maybe he wrote it really small?

Brooks isn't that bad of a play designer. The one where he sets up a fake double screen at the top of the key for Westbrook is incredible. It's effective and it takes total advantage of their two best players.

Anyone who knows more about basketball has any thoughts on this? I understand different score different play but doesn't seem the smartest choice. The answers are like textbook basketball 101 but the play seems i don't know.

Any body know when Sam or the owner going to fire Brooks, and hire Jerry Sloan?
