I wonder if they had to shut the entire sports section down just to get rid of Knott. I'm somewhat saddened by this news as I will read anything and everything Wiz/Skins related and this will add to my time wasting.

I'm sure the poor guy is making slave-wages just to get a start in sports writing, that's what probably enabled them to get a sports section again.

Actually, it looks as if Moon's church is back to subsidizing the paper again. The church had apparently pulled their subsidy previously (as fallout from an ugly ownership transition/battle); and the loss of extra $ resulted in the paper's decision to trim services.
