Blue Jays Japan Earthquake/Tsunami Relief Fund

Post#1 » by LittleOzzy » Mon Mar 28, 2011 8:46 pm

For those going to the game, bring a few extra bucks or get 1 less beer.

The TORONTO BLUE JAYS are supporting the Japan Earthquake/Asia-Pacific Tsunami Relief fund efforts on Opening Night on Friday, April 1 at 7:07pm against the Minnesota Twins.

The Blue Jays, through Jays Care, will be making a $25,000 donation to the Canadian Red Cross. Fans coming to Rogers Centre will be able to make a donation to assist the survivors in Japan. Staff and volunteers from both the Jays Care Foundation and the Canadian Red Cross will be on hand to accept donations on the stadium concourse.

For fans accustomed to purchasing Jays Care 50/50 tickets each game, please note that there will not be a 50/50 draw held on Opening Night as all fundraising efforts will be directed to the Japan Earthquake and Tsunami Relief fund through the Canadian Red Cross. Jays Care 50/50 draws presented by Ericsson will resume on Saturday, April 2nd and for all remaining home games this season.
