Wrestling Draft

Post#1 » by CapeCrusader » Fri Apr 15, 2011 4:56 am

I dunno about you guys, but for me I found that the draft we had with the all time wrestlers was pretty fun. So I was just watching the pro wrestling report on youtube and thought we could use the idea they had, which was draft current wrestlers from TNA and WWE and have a point system for the year.

So depending on who's interested will determine how many picks we'll have. So let me know if your interested.

Lets not jump all at once guys lol

Theres also a point system too, but I doubt that makes a diference lol. It's all good, just wanted to put more life on this board.

Time is my issue. Last draft was during a semester where I was only taking a couple of light classes.

Would have a fantasy draft like WWE.com used to have. We draft from the WWE/TNA Roster (Say, five from each) and do a point system.

Non-wrestling appearance on Raw or SD! - 1 point
Wrestling match on Raw or SD! - 2 points
Win on Raw or SD! - 1 point
Non-wrestling appearance on ppv - 1 point
Wrestling match on ppv - 2 points
Win on ppv - 1 point

That kind of thing.

Is anyone interested in something like this? I mean a casual thing. Nothing too time consuming.

I'm down. But I don't follow TNA at all so I'll be balls at choosing anything from there.

Seven people seems like enough.

Point system up for debate.

Non-wrestling appearance on Raw or SD! - 1 point
Wrestling match on Raw or SD! - 2 points
Win on Raw or SD! - 1 point
Non-wrestling appearance on ppv - 1 point
Wrestling match on ppv - 2 points
Win on ppv - 1 point
Royal Rumble win - 5 points
MitB win - 3 points
Title win - 1 point
Title Defense - 1 point

So let's say Cena cuts a promo at the start of Raw, then wins a match at the end of the show. Later that week he cuts a promo before a ppv, then successfully defends his title.

That's a total of 9 points for the week.

We draft five from each company and keep track until next years wrestlemania. It would be easy to keep track of on a google docs spreadsheet. Cape, you could get a gmail account (if you don't already have one) and we could share the document to make sure it's kept up to date.

How's that sound to everyone?

Yeah I already have one I pm it to you after this msg.

For the most part I like the pts system. Only thing I would change is (win on ppv). I don't think it should be equivalent to just an apperance on a ppv.

Well that point would be a bonus on top of the match. If you win a match on a ppv you get three points... Two for the match itself and one for the win. A simple non-wrestling appearance would be less than losing a match.

So for Wrestlemania, Ryder would have gotten one point for his Snoop Dogg audition, Del Rio would have gotten two points for his match, and Edge would have gotten four for the match, the win and the title defense.

Or should I say, title retention.

Would leads me to this: if a superstar loses by DQ, but retains the title. Do they still get the point? I say yes.

I like this idea because it may allow us to cheer for guys we don't usually cheer for. Or at least be interested in the outcome of the match.

I propose we allow trades as well, and FA pickups ONLY when one of your wrestlers is injured (or leaves the company)

I actually like both ideas.

So we have 7 guys I think? so 5 picks for both companys sounds alright I guess.

That's 35 per company. That should give us a good combination of top guys and mid carders.
