What Role Does Paul Beeston Have With This Team?

I've always wondered, what role does the Blue Jays President Paul Beeston have on this team. I've always felt that why it it that Anthopolous just hasn't been given the rains as the president and the general managers of the Blue Jays. What role does Beeston play with the Blue Jays that differenciates from the role Anthopolous plays ? Does Beeston get involved in any of the trades Anthopolous makes ??

I think that Beeston is intimately involved on the business side of things and serves as a mentor and sounding board to Alex.
