From Hawks point of view, would you do this trade?
Heat recieve
Kirk Hinrich
Hawks recieve
Mike Miller
Joel Anthony
cash considerations
Why for both teams?
The Heat need a point guard that can play defense and knock down threes. Kirk fits the bill pretty nicely but his contract is kind of ridiculous, although it is expiring. I don't think the Hawks place as much value in Kirk as they did, especially with Teague blosoming and now you guys can start him and give him a bigger role. The Hawks also add shooting in Mike MIller and can be insurance for Jamal if you guys can't keep him. If you are able to keep him, extra shooting would still help the Hawks team. You also add defense by taking the Heats starting center and work horse. Josh Smith and Joel Anthony side by side would be sick defensively.

No.
Mike Miller and Joel Anthony both have long term contracts for more than they would be worth to the Hawks. There's no reason to do this trade, ESPECIALLY because it helps Miami.

True. But it is only 5 mil a year for Mike and 3 for Joel. Thats excellent value and if you decided you didn't want to keep them they would be easy to move. They add depth to you guys. It isn't like you are bogged down to 12 mil a year for 6 years to these guys like some players in the league are. Personally the trade helps the Hawks more than it helps the Heat. The Heat could wait a year to sign Kirk.

Agreed azuresou1! The assumption that the Hawks don't place much value in Kirk is just plain wrong. The reason Sund went and got him is because he was a solid scorer and could create his own shot if necessary. Depending on how Teague does going forward, I can see us trying to keep him around. However, if his contract could help us get someone who could really help us more, I think he might end up being traded before the deadline next season. This offer however leaves the Hawks with two long-term, mid-level contracts on players past their prime and would give MIA a starting PG and eventually cap space. We really don't need Miller or Anthony, so I say no way.

It's really not. Shooting SG/SFs are a dime a dozen, and while Miller is also a pretty good rebounder and a decent defender/ball handler, he's also 31. There's no point in adding Miller when he's not going to push the team over the edge, especially when he's not even clearly better than Marvin Williams, and thus would be battling for time. Joel Anthony also can't catch a pass to save his life, so he'd be an upgrade from Jason Collins, but he's not worth his contract.
Hinrich also would be an excellent first guard off the bench for the Hawks, and for the Heat, he would be the clear starter that complements their team - doesn't need many touches, great shooter, plays excellent defense, standup character guy. And no, the Heat would have no way to sign Hinrich, unless he's willing to take the vet's minimum, which is not likely when his likely value is around the $5MM range, and for a career starter-type guy, I'd imagine he'd rather get a final 4-year contract for $20MM than a 1 year vet's minimum.

Kirk Hinrich is going to be a serviceable player for us and we need the depth at the 1. The contract that I would like to see moved is Marvin Williams. I have no interest in Joel Anthony or Mike Miller at this time.

Re: Trade idea
Kirk started to feel a whole better about his game with us in the playoffs. I'm hoping he'll be healthy when trainning camp starts. He was one of the main reasons we beat the Magic in the first round. That trade doesn't work for us.
GO HAWKS.

Thanks for the honesty. I was just wondering how high you guys valued Kirk. I thought it was a good trade.
