Lakers discuss trade involving Odom 4 Iguodala
The Lakers and 76ers have held discussions involving a swap of Andre Iguodala for Lamar Odom, according to league sources.
The deal would save Philadelphia a significant amount of money, as Odom is entering the final season of his contract while Iguodala is owed a combined $44 million over the next three seasons.
The Lakers would have to include more salary in order for the deal to consummated.

I love me some LO, but he doesn't play much defense and I'd rather keep Gasol and Bynum. I would love if we could get Iguodala.

Unless Pau or Iggy could extend their range some more, I'd worry about teams packing in the paint against our starting 5 with Iggy

No way, we'll keep hearing speculation until February that's for sure.

Odom, Artest and (2) 2nd round picks for Iggy, Lou Williams and the #16 pick ... I think we do that ... I'll be sad and miss L.O. and Ron but Iggy is nice, Kobe loves him and if we draft smart and get a solid player at #16 it could work out.

Iggy can shoot the 3 but he's not a sharp shooter and there will be other moves made after this one im guessing the Lakers will look to acquire a shooter off the bench and there still is a need for a new PG.

I like this deal.
What I like most about it is that Philly would have to give up more value because of the difference in salary and years. We could include Blake to make up the dollars.
How about this ... the Lakers wait and see if Jimmer or Kemba slips to Philly's pick. If they do, then we pull the trigger and end up with our new PG along with more athleticism from Iggy.
I LOVE that.

If we do this I'm guessing it's Odom, Artest and (2) 2nd rd picks for Iggy, Lou and the #16 ... decent deal as we're getting two starters and a rook for 1 starter and 1 6th man

absolutely agree.
many occasions where Odom came in for Pau because of Pau's defensive wackness
(not to say that Pau is "ALWAYS horrible on defense).

Re: Lakers discuss trade involving Odom 4 Iguodala
Ok Lou and the 16th with Iggy seems a bit much for just Odom and Artest even if u throw in Blake. If this trade happens it will be for the financial gains to the Sixers that kind of goes away with 3yrs 12m left on Blakes contract. I think the 16th could be on the table but not Lou. In the end we don't even know where these discussions stand they could be already dead who knows.

LO is the Lakers 3rd best "regular" defender behind Kobe and Ron and is much better than Pau ... he's no Iggy though, that guy is one of the true lock-down defenders in the league.

Bucher's reporting that the deal is for Odom/Walton. Apparently Collins likes Odom and since this deal saves Philly a massive amount of money it's under serious discussion.

This is stupid. Iggy is not half the player that Odom is. Odom is versatile. Iggy just kinda shines on a really bad team.

Nope. Best swing man defender in the league. Also he'd give us a lifeline on fastbreak offense.
