Deron Williams To Play For Be?ikta? During Lockout

Post#1 » by ibrahim tatliseks » Thu Jul 7, 2011 9:49 am

Here is the report:

http://twitter.com/#!/ismailsenol/statu ... 7958138880

It says Deron Williams of the Nets has reached an agreement with Besiktas (the team that signed Iverson last year) in principle.

The guy tweeting the news is a very credible journalist here in Turkey.

Besiktas isn't a Euroleague team. Very intersting choice if it is true.

That's good...I was worried Deron might be playing somewhere during the lockout.

It's a good deal for you guys too. He'll stay in shape, playing against solid competition and be ready when the season finally rolls around.

It is a good deal, unless their team doctors are not as good as the NBA's and he gets injured.

With the money they'll be getting through tickets and marketing from signing Williams, I'm sure they'll be able to afford the best.

Injuries is a natural part of the game. Might as well happen in the pre-season :dontknow:

This sucks donkey cashews. Im Turkish and absolutely HATE Besiktas in every sport, especially soccer (Fenerbahce FTW SON!!!) Hopefully nothing happens to him while hes there. I am also a bit concerned that with the lockout the Nets cant do anything to improve the team and Williams opts out of his contract and signs somewhere else. On the other hand I am glad hes still going to play during the lockout and in my home country for that matter. Im going to try and visit there sometime soon anyway hopefully I can go to a game.

An injured Deron is still better than everyone else on our roster, we saw that last year

I think it's a good move, Deron has a pretty clean history of health and a freak accident can happen anywhere so there's not much downside to going abroad...

If more players do this, I'm sure owners will start to sweat a bit. You wouldn't want someone else driving your car or making money off of your product.

So we essentially just traded him forb the rights to Iverson.

Sweet.

It'd be funny if Deron played more games for this Turkish team than the Nets.

If anyone's wondering, they play 4-5 games a month. It's lessens the fear of him getting injured (at least it does for me).

I agree with you. I heard the practices are tough but most injuries happen in game anyway.
