Ok, here's the deal. I'm in a 12 team league that plays 8 players per week:
1 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 TE, 1 DEF, 1 K (unfortunately no flex). We have an auction draft with a cap of about $150 to fill out a 16 player team and we get to hold 2 keeps from the previous year.
Here is my question.
Right now I Vick @$31 from last year. (So I'm pretty much keeping him), but who do I choose out of my remaining options:
-Antonio Gates @$13? (He was a beast last year...until the Plantar. Red flag???)
-Mercedes Lewis @$1? (up and comer...but last year was a contract year and I'm not sure if he will still produce)
-Larry Fitzgerald @$28 (New QB in 2011? New QB in 2010 was already bad news)
-Benjarvus Green Ellis @$13 (Solid RB, Woodhead is gone now so numbers could improve)
-MJD @$51 (Jags have no vertical game and I think he's gonna face 8/9 in the box on almost every play, but he is 100% now)
Ok, so there are my options. What do you think and why? I'm leaning towards Gates. That way my TE and QB spot (may just get Vince Young on the cheap as my 2nd QB so I can save more money for better RBs and WRs) are pretty much sewn up.

Definitely not MJD

Keep Fitzgerald, you would be crazy not to. Gates has all sorts of injury red-flags and TE is such a deep position this year. MJD is coming off major surgery, not worth that $51 pricetag he has on him right now.
Fitzgerald has a new QB who I believe is good and who has a strong arm. Last night in their first action together, Larry caught two balls for 52 yards while playing only the first two series's. He got targeted 4 times out of 7 by Kolb as well. His "bad" year last year still netted 1100 yards and 6 TDs. Unless he gets hurt, he is a virtual lock for 1000+ yards and 10+ TDs with a competant QB.

I'd say it's either Fitz or one of the TE's.
Normally, I wouldn't even consider a TE, but either one of those would be a solid keeper for the price.
Fitz, I like, but I'm not sold on Kolb at all. He may end up being the biggest busts of the season.
MJD is an easy pass, especially at that price.
BenJarvis Green-Ellis I like but there are so many guys that can make plays on that offense, it'll get spread around a lot.

Of all the preposterous assumptions of humanity over humanity, nothing exceeds most of the criticisms made on the habits of the poor by the well-housed, well-warmed, and well-fed.
