Wolves Roster

Post#1 » by Narf » Wed Sep 14, 2011 9:24 pm

You can only play 12 players in any game in the NBA, and realistically only 10 players actually play daily. Now that we know who the coach is, who is going to play nightly, who will be "inactive", and who's going to be traded?

Current roster:
1 . Darko Milicic C
2 . Brad Miller C
3 . Nikola Pekovic C
4 . Anthony Randolph FC
5 . Anthony Tolliver FC
6 . Kevin Love FC
7 . Derrick Williams F
8 . Michael Beasley F
9 . Lazar Hayward SF
10. Martel Webster GF
11. Wes Johnson GF
12. Wayne Ellington SG
13. Malcom Lee G
14. Ricky Rubio PG
15. Luke Ridnour PG

Overseas:
16. Tanguy Ngombo
17. Nikola Mirotic
18. Henk Norel
19. Paulão Prestes
20. Nemanja Bjelica
21. Loukas Mavrokefalidis

Feel free to correct any errors in the overseas players.

2. Derrick Williams
3. Ricky Rubio
4. Wes Johnson
5. Michael Beasley
6. Anthony Randolph
7. Anthony Tolliver

10. Martell Webster

I'm thinkin those guys^ get most of the playing time.

We don't have Mirotic. We got him from HOU in the Flynn deal, but traded him down on draft night. Here's the summary:

1. With the 20th pick they selected Donatas Montiejunas

2. The Wolves then traded Johnny Flynn a future second round pick and their 20th pick, Donatas Montiejunas, to the Houston Rockets for Center Brad Miller, Houston’s 23rd pick and 38th pick and a future first round pick. The future first round pick is Memphis’ 2013 pick and it is lottery protected from 2013-16 after that it turns into a second rounder.

3. With the 23rd pick the Wolves received Nikola Mirotic then traded the 23rd pick to the Chicago Bulls for the 28th pick and the 43rd pick and cash.

4. With the 28th pick the Wolves selected Norris Cole then Wolves then traded the 28th pick to the Miami Heat for the 31st pick (originally Minnesota’s pick sent to Miami in the Beasley trade) and a future 2nd round pick.

5. The Wolves traded the 31st pick, Bojan Bogdanovic, to the Nets for a future second round pick and cash.

6. The Wolves recieved Chandler Parsons with the 38th pick then traded that back to the Rockets for cash.

7. The Wolves recieved Malcom Lee with the 43rd pick.

8. The Wolves recieved Targuy Ngombo with the 57th pick from Portland for cash (clearly they used some of the cash they had been stockpiling all night to trade for this guy)

NET EFFECT:

MIN OUT: Flynn + #20 pick
MIN IN: Brad Miller + Malcolm Lee + Ngombo + lotto-protected 1st + 2 future 2nds + Cash x4

I love how we got Houston's 2nd pick and then traded it back to them a half hour later.

I don't want Beas playing 28 minutes, let alone having him play more minutes then Love.

Why wouldn't we play our best scorer 28 or more minutes per game? It's not like we have anyone else who can consistently create their own offense (Williams may be that guy someday, but he's not there now).

FA and not likely to be returning, especially with the roster already at 15. As much as I actually like Telfair, Minnesota won't be his home anylonger.

Ya know, I've gotta think we're going to trade Beasley or Williams. Love is a centerpiece, he's perfect for Adelman's offense. And there just won't be enough minutes to accommodate them both.

I hate to say it, but I think we're going to trade Williams. Not because Beasley is the better prospect, but because we'll get so much more for Williams.

Here's some information on the games and rosters. Lee might play on the worst possible team he could play on. I follow Lee on Twitter and he hasn't really said anything about it. I know Hickson, Derozan, and Josh Selby have had some MONSTER games, along with John Wall of course.

I'm just getting to the point where I'd like to see Beasley moved for some sort of Center/SG. I'm much higher on D-will then Beas and I'd like to see him get the "keys" right away.

also remands to be seen if d-will can actually play the three position on the nba level. (I hope d-will takes over in his rookie year and allows b-easy to be traded)
