We have a better color scheme, therefore, we win.

Our run-blocking wasn't good at all last game. I don't even really blame Tim Hightower because he was running hard, but our line got no push. I think the pass-protection was pretty good though. Whenever Grossman had time in the pocket, it was a completion.

I can't really make a prediction though cuz I don't know that much about the Cards'.

Saw some of the Cardinals/Panthers game the other night on NFL Network. I'm not very impressed with the Cardinals defensive line, so we should have an easier time being able to handle them, but who knows?

I'm of the opinion that we should just let Larry Fitzgerald get his and worry about the other pieces around him, Beanie Wells/Early Doucet/Breston. I think we have the defense to keep this a low scoring affair in the 17-20 point range. We're at home, therefore I pick the Skins to win 24-17. But I wouldn't be surprised if we lost either.

So, the protocol is talk game thread here but talk Skins on the Wizards board, LR?

Assuming it is, my concern is the running game didn't do much against the Giants. Also, as you mentioned above Trent Williams looked BAD last game. Grossman's probably going to get creamed against Arizona at least once due to Williams being manhandled.

If I had to guess I'd say the Skins lose. I believe their first half against the Giants more than the dominant second half.

However, this game should really be telling. If the defense is stout and they can run the ball the Skins could show the preseason and the second half of game one were not flukes. Those two things happen and they're good. Otherwise, I'm not counting on another stellar performance by Grossman.
Bye bye Beal.

Any secondary that completely forgets to guard Steve Smith multiple times is probably going to get abused even by the likes of Sexy Rexy.

If we give him any kind of pocket, he should have another good day.

I'm a bit concerned because Wisenhunt is a creative coach who will find ways to exploit some of the holes in our secondary. Would be really helpful if the front 7 can generate turnovers and turn the Cardinals into a one dimensional team.

Honestly the game can go either way. I'm not drinking the koolaid as most people are already.

We should talk about everything Skins related on this board. So many people post in that thread over on the Wiz board, there's no reason to just click the link to come here.

Landry is still iffy to come back. This would be a good game to have him in.

All skins discussion should be on the skins board! And while you're at it, go talk caps on the caps board!

I think the Cardinals secondary is suspect as hell.

Two slow safeties, a rookie CB (who will be great eventually), and an undrafted FA CB.

I'll take the Skins....

Graham Gano is frustrating to watch. I have no doubt if there was a better kicker out there he probably wouldn't be on this team.

OK 1st half. We're moving the ball, but we've had what...4 redzone chances, and we've only scored twice. Unacceptable.

Helu's stutter-go move is beautiful. He's so smooth changing directions and speeds, defenders can't predict him at all.

He doesn't seem to have great explosiveness or breakaway speed, but I really like him as a second back.

In other news... that game was shameful, a classic Redskins failgame, but we somehow won. Cool. =p

Anyone notice Cooley is slowly being phased out? Maybe it's just me, but I don't think he caught one ball today.

Anyway, this team has a long way to go to be a successful football team. Sure, we're 2-0, but we could just as easily be 0-2 right now. A lot has gone our way so far.

Helu is a great change of pace back, love this kid. He can't pass protect worth a lick, but dammit, he can be lightning to Hightower's thunder.

Finally I can start getting a little emotionally invested in this team again.

I really like what they did with the roster. This seems like a smart group and they got a lot younger. Glad to see they are past the Portis phase. And who isnt happy Hanesworth is gone.

Fred Davis is going to be a beast. I liked what I saw in him last year and this year he dropped 12 pounds and is in excellent shape. He may well be one of the top TEs receivers this year. 6-4. Runs like a deer and has great hands.

I love the RBs. Hightower is what we needed. And they havent even really worked Torain in yet. Nice to finally have deepth in the backfield.

They need to let Coley rest and get healthy so they can roll out Davis and Coley down the road. Plus it is a long season. Finally Coley and Moss are not the only reliable options. They should take advantage of that while they can.

This team is only going to get better. One win was passing. One win was running.

I'm not going to get ahead of myself yet but they have upside. Even for this season. Off to a great start which only helps a young teams confidence. The Shanny's have turned it around. They should be good for years if they stick to this plan. Moss should be good for a few more years. Kerrigan was a great pick. BO on the only side. Fletcher just seem to keep rolling though they will need to start line up a replacement.

I dont think Coley is being phased out as much as he hasnt been healthy and Davis is playing like a beast.

Skins are back.

I don't think Cooley is being phased out -- I think he's injured. Anyway, yay racially named local football team! This is definitely the kind of game they would have lost last year. Even if Grossman totally showed his bad side on the first interception. Hope Landry's hamstring heals.

I was at the game yesterday. We really should have put them away in the 1st half. We completely dominated them. Need to improve our red zone offense for sure. Good win though after falling behind late. Looked like a textbook Redskin loss we've been so used to these last 10+ years but we pulled it out.

And how about some props for Bruce Allen? The guy is a stud GM. Kerrigan, Jenkins, Helu, and Nield all look like great picks(I know JJ is hurt but he looked great before he got hurt). We're younger, faster, more athletic, and ultimately better. Gotta love that.

I think credit also goes to our scouting department. Bruce is probably part of that team, but he along with several others on the staff actually come to an agreement on who to pick. Scouts do the dirty work.

We only have a handful of guys over 30 on this roster, and we're going to get even younger next year. We've already got 8 picks.
