D. Williams as a Net compared to others

Post#1 » by picc » Tue Dec 6, 2011 1:02 am

Deron is one of my favorite players, and as i'm sure most of you have been watching the Nets for a very long time, I was curious as to what your opinions are of Deron Williams as a player compared to the other stars who have played for the Nets. Better/worse, strenghts/weaknesses, etc.

How would you say he compares to Kidd in his prime years here?

Vince Carter?

Thanks in advance.

He's played so few games you have to rank him below both Kidd and Carter. Truthfully there's not much any of us can say about Deron at this point in time.

In his short tenure here Deron was phenomenal at finding the open man but the way he sets up guys is different from Kidd, Kidd in his prime was on another level which is saying something given what a talented playmaker Deron is.

This thread needs to be put on hold for a litle while.

Deron played in just 12 games for us with an injured wrist on his shooting hand, and averaged 15-12-5

Understood to both of you guys' points about Deron's limited time in NJ.

But could you elaborate a bit on the bolded?

Kidd is a much better passer in the open court, and i think he sets up more plays with guys cutting to the hoop that not many PG's can make.
