Affordable big: Speights?

Sadly I can't come up with a deal that makes sense to get the inexpensive young center, but it would be worth exploring even if it takes a 3 way deal of a S&T of Crawford getting a TPE that could be used to absorb Speights. He could be a poor man's Kendrick Perkins with the right coaching and maybe some mentoring by Jason Collins on positioning and leverage. Last year of his contract so if it didn't work out it wouldn't be a long commitment.

Kendrick Perkins? Collins? Speights is nowhere near the mold of those players, he's a poor man's Andray Blatche and if Doug Collins couldn't get him to play a lick of defense and have good shot selection then I don't know how Drew would.

He'd be intriguing as a scoring big off the bench though but that's it.
