Drew Hutchinson's scouting report on... Drew Hutchinson

On his fastball: "I throw a four-seam and two-seam. The four-seam doesn't have as much movement but has more velocity (92-94-mph). I use it to pound the zone, challenge hitters and get ahead in the count. My two-seam is a sinker (90-92-mph) with true sink and induces a lot of ground balls and weak contact. The command of my fastball is what comes first with me. It's the most important. The command of location can enhance and make each pitch better."

Maybe we'll see Hutchison as a callup next fall. I hope that slider works out for him.

Well it wasn't the McCarthy on McCarthy piece from a while back, but still nice.

Also, they do top 5 pitchers (obviously that he's seen, not everywhere) and two Rays and two Yankees along with Hutch. If you were wondering why the Yanks aren't panicking about their patchwork rotation, it's 'cause they've got Betances and Banuelos coming strong. I know you've heard it before with Hughes and Joba and Montero; basically every Yanks prospect gets a little more recognition than they deserve, but it'll be a strange and cruel world if neither one of those pans out nicely. And TB: Price, then Hellickson, then Moore, and now Archer. Go away with your ridiculous pitching prospects already (although I honestly don't know that much about Archer, should he be up in that group or is he more Davis, Niemann, which isn't to say that's too shabby either).
