Player Predictions: Magnum Rolle (Update Cut)

Post#1 » by Superiorblogman » Wed Dec 14, 2011 7:02 am

What do you expect from Magnum Rolle? What is a acceptable contribution from Rolle?

He averaged 14 pts 5 reb and a block in his D League stint. He is 6"11, 225. Seems a lot like Benson minus Benson never being in the D League. I don't know if his contract is guaranteed or not. Personally, I am guessing the Hawks are just hoping between he and Benson one of the two will show something worthy of trying to develop. I don't expect any contribution from him and would not be surprised if he was cut at some point. 5 rebounds a game at any level for a 6"11 guy is just disturbing to me.

Looks like a good athlete and finisher against summer league type competition. Seems to be a theme with D League talent good raw athletes. Other things seem to hold them back.

Word out of game was he looked good Thursday. Like I say I think he or Benson has a good chance at sitting at the end of bench in street clothes. I could also still see him getting cut or sent back to the D League

I think he is likely to stick and Benson likely to spend a lot of the year in the d-league. My logic is that Rolle showed enough in the d-league already for them to sign at the end of last season to lock him in for training camp this year. With the packed schedule we need a least 1 young big to eat minutes that Drew wouldn't normally dole out to keep our main rotation healthy. Word I've heard is that he worked hard on his game since his days at LSU, so I hope he gets a shot.

From what I saw at the open scrimmage I would keep Benson over Rolle, but just like preseason open runs mean little

Had a nice jumper but he does not really do anything that I think is valuable, I prefer Benson because he tries to protect the rim.

Return to Atlanta Hawks
