Jamal Crawford to Portland
Jamal Crawford just signed a 2 year 10 million dollar deal with the trail blazers, the deal includes a player option.

Re: Jamal Crawford to Portland
Given the cap room situation I'm not bothered by lack of return. It was to be expected.
5M is a fair price for Jamal. I'm sure he had expected more (and would have demanded more from Atlanta), but given his age maybe he shouldn't have. If we had a different financial situation and a different coach I would have loved keeping him for that price as a 1 dimensional bench scorer because creating one's own shot is more scarce than some other skill sets in that position. Still didn't like Drew using him as backup PG (made the 2nd unit Jamal or famine) or for as many minutes as he did (we didn't have the interior defense to cover him that often).

New York probably wanted a S&T, but if the Hawks don't want salary back they're out of luck.

Very disappointed in the way Sund and the ASG handled this. I never thought for one minute that we would resign Jamal. We should have traded him last year for cheap parts. Kinda like the Wiz did us, they traded Hinrich's contract for 2 1st round picks and expirings in Mo Evans, then reached a buyout with Bibby. This is not a acceptable way to do business IMO, things like this highlight why the Hawks are always reaching in the bargain bin to shop.

I thought he was great for the Hawks and the Hawks were just as good for him. I wish him nothing but the best. Great scorer. Beautiful jump shot. Best back up SG in the league and would start for a few. Good luck with the Blazers.
GO HAWKS.
