Kings/Hornets

Post#1 » by BLT » Thu Dec 22, 2011 3:09 pm

Are you guys still under the minimum salary cap? Was curious if you had any interest in Emeka Okafor, yes his contract isn't the best but its not that bad anymore, right on par with what everyone else in his range is getting, Chandler, Jordan, Dalembert. Doubt the Hornets would just give a serviceable center away but they would be looking to move him for young players, cap space and picks.. So what would you offer for him?

BTW- so you dont need to go looking for it his contract is 3 years 40 million and turned 29 couple months ago.

Some Kings fans would be interested, some would not. However, it looks like Petrie is trying to keep flexability for next year, so I see this as unlikely.

I really wanted this to happen if our option was Dally.

What would you guys want? I wouldn't give alot tbh as he has a pretty negetive value to you guys and don't feel we should give something really worthwhile as we're pretty much doing you a favor taking his contract as is.

If we get Hayes back then no thanks. If not, I wouldn't give up much for Okafor.

Young players - maybe Donte Greene or 1 of our second round guys (Honeycutt or Thomas or Whiteside)

Cap Space- Taking his contract is enough

Picks- No 1st rounders

I really like Emeka, but his contract is a turnoff, so I think the BIGGEST offer I would do is Greene and Whiteside for him, maybe add a conditional 2nd.

Even with Chuck back, I could see the Kings offering as much as Jason and Donte, but no more.

When Chuck's contract was voided I was really hoping for a Garcia+Jason Thompson/Okafor swap, but the need is no longer there. I have high hopes for the Chuck Wagon.

Even with Chick I would still love to see a JT/Donte/Garcia/filler/2nd for Okafor/Ariza.
