Where does Fielder land?

Post#1 » by xStanton27 » Fri Dec 23, 2011 9:18 am

Where do you all think Prince Fielder will end up? I've tried to follow this significantly. Of course the rumors are he wants a 10 year deal at an average of 25.5 million. I dont expect him to get that but I believe there are some teams that might be willing to spend big.

Cubs are the supposed frontrunners but there are conflicting reports. Some say they are willing to spend big and others say they will completely rebuild.

Mariners seem to be close behind and probably the team that wants him the most but there have also been reports that he wants to stay on the East Coast and it could be a rather unappealing division.

What do you guys think?

Cubs would be my choice with Nats as a darkhorse.
Bickerstaff: who's up for kickball?!!
Ed Wood: Only if it's the no-pants variety.

Ill go with the Nationals. I think it'll end up being an 8 year deal with some sort of options for the remaining 2 (performance, weight based). May not be $20 million per but probably in the $17-18 million per or so range with incentives that might bring it close).

no way

if it was that easy, alot more teams would be seriously after Fielder..... not just the handful currently.

I expect hm to get his 20+ million "minnimum" for 10 years.... though I can see some incentives, they will probably just be bonus money to motivate him.
